Del Zotto and Johnson are the most expensive players on the block. Both at the end of cheaper deals and are producing so far. Del Zotto has been excellent in 4 games since returning from injury. Vanek is skating again and could return as soon this week. I'd probably put him slightly above Gionta in terms of value. Gionta chips in with points plus SHTOI. Vanek has been a nice fit in Detroit. Looking for younger NHLers in return. Gionta could be had for futures if the price is right.
Pyatt is a nice cheap depth player. Comparable statline to Gionta plus quite a few more blocks. He was a late 1st round selection of the waiver draft...I'm looking to turn a profit with him.
A deal doesn't have be made before the lineup deadline today so I'm not in a rush for a deal. I'm not looking to trade every guy either...I need bodies to finish the season. Just looking for best possible deals.
