lol....old memories:
Burke, former general manager of the Maple Leafs, launched a civil suit Friday against “poonerman,” “sir psycho sexy,” “mr. bruin” and 15 other anonymous bloggers and online commentators who allegedly “spread lies over the Internet” after he was fired earlier this year.

Re: BBKL GM evaluation *COMPLETE*
so I gather nothing ever became of the lawsuit?
Re: BBKL GM evaluation *COMPLETE*
No, he made his point and was able to serve 5 of the 18 people via PM over internet message boards. Mainly, if a forum has open registration to the public, then it is a now legal way to be served for a lawsuit. That practice was the main goal. This was from a lawyer friend of mine who said that was the word on the street and what he was aiming for. Establishing a new precedent.dave1959 wroteCOLONso I gather nothing ever became of the lawsuit?

If will likely be the #1 story in BBKL history. Can't see anything topping it although if anyone has a chance at it it'll be Lee.CAM wroteCOLONwow...where did you find that. Its quite an honor to be part of bbkl folk lure. Nice find Michael. hahaha

Was poonerman one of us?
Re: BBKL GM evaluation *COMPLETE*
Pooner was a compatriot from another board...
I have some more stuff... the original post, scans of the legal docs... we'd need to move this to /administration first though hah.

I think Lee should be higher than 10, probably top 5. Despite the annoyance it can be working with him in a trade, the team he took over to the team he had when I left (no idea what it looks like now) is something that only the stingiest GM could do. He was tough to work with in a trade because when your team has no assets, you have to be. You need to maximize your assets in every move you make, and he did.
Mik is always underrated as a GM but putting him #3 is certainly fitting. The guy has built a powerhouse in which he cannot even roster some of his best players every week. But maybe that is a fault in his too as he didn't make a trade last season until late to get Panarin in, IIRC.
Steve and Mike as 1-2 were obvious and this can be flipped and there is just as much justification.
Nice list Kimberly. I only read about the guys I've known long enough, and it seemed pretty on point.
