As someone who owns both these guys in another league I consider them approx equal. MDZ is on a beautiful contract and throws up good numbers, kinda inconsistent though; whereas Edler is reliable h2h # and some scoring, good contract.

Clearly people her either over value Edler or haven't been paying attention to the transformation MDZ has taken in the past 2 years. I suspect there are still a lot of people skeptical of MDZ.

well ... he ain't gonna be on teh 1st pp with Ghost there ... that helped his #'s a lot in the early going.

Probably equal all things being said (age, etc). Safety is with Edler though.

He was never on the 1st pp unit to begin with and Philly has consistently had the largest gap in production from 1st unit to 2nd unit in the NHL. He did the vast majority of his work at ES.
