Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Interesting move. It's essentially the Carolina Teuvo-Bickell deal. Florida gets rid of a bad contract and sweeten the deal with a young player...and get a couple of decent picks back. Makes sense for both sides.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Arizona is beginning to become pretty deep in good young talent.

Could Florida not have bought out bolland? They didn't even get a 1st back. I think it's a fuckin terrible move.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Still have lots of dead cap if you buy him out, but ya easily a loss for FLA. They got a pick for Savard this Summer at least.Handsome&FairMike wroteCOLONCould Florida not have bought out bolland? They didn't even get a 1st back. I think it's a fuckin terrible move.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Bolland was injured during the buyout period so they couldn't do it.
Happy to see Bolland in zona. That team is really coming along.

Will bolland play in zona?

Doubt itHandsome&FairMike wroteCOLONWill bolland play in zona?
“This trade's about Lawson Crouse,” Chayka said. “We just felt like by taking a broader look at our prospect pool, if there was one area where we could improve upon, it would be adding a power forward of Lawson's ability. As far as David Bolland goes, that was a necessary component to execute the deal in the manner we did. He's a guy that is currently injured and my understanding is that he won't be ready to play for the foreseeable future so that was part of this transaction … For us, it's a cap hit, a $5.5 million cap hit, and that’s our liability on the trade.”

They've done a great job rebuilding. Kind of ticks me off that they're in a bad hockey market...all due respect to the fine folks from the state of Arizona.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Pronman released his prospect rankings and no surprise Leafs are #1.
"#1 - Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto has the best farm system in the NHL and it isn't close. Based on my prospect definitions, there are zero reasonable arguments for anyone to even be in the same conversation. Not only do they have a ton of elite talent in players like Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander, but their depth is elite too. There are at least 20 prospects in this system that would fit in many other teams' top 10."

I'd say there could be an argument made for winnipeg. And Arizonas is getting pretty good.

Those teams are 2 + 3
Depth is the difference between Toronto and Winnipeg. Jets have graduated some prospects and are pretty top heavy now.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Dmytro Timashov not on the list doesn't make sense to me.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
120 isn't that many prospects, average of top 4 per team, but Leafs had 8. He probably should have been between 100-120 though, similar argument could be made for Johnson.
