Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
yeah man. especially if he turns into an 80+ point player consistently, its probably one of the best contracts in all of hockey.jcarton wroteCOLONhe sucks, jk, jk, nice cap hit for a guy that leads the flyers in scoring at the moment

Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
It should be a good contract, especially in the final two years....kinda like the Parise dealio.
Not that i'd confuse Giroux with Parise. But best contract in all of hockey is probably a stretch, that's pending future improvements.

And I truly believe Giroux will be better than Parise AT LEAST offensively. defensively is a much bigger mountain to climb but I think he can do it.

Love the guy...I can't believe I was in the hunt to get him from Scott back when we were completing the terms of the Toews deal. That's a building block player if I've seen one. I think he's no worse than the 2nd best forward on the Flyers right now. The best being Richards.
Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
yikes there a few fails in this thread...
shiv - i love you bro but giroux > parise? really? i mean ... really?
Scott - I think you need to read some more books.
Nick - you are WAYY better looking then george clooney (no homo)
that is all.

Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
Giroux has one hell of a mountain to climb to be on Parise's level... Currently Giroux is the 4th best flyers forward, and definitley benefits from not being a player who is focused on. He still gets legitimate ice time, and is good in his own right, however if he was checked anything like Carter his production would drop of quickly. BTW-> Richards doesn't get checked, he checks people
Parise is a force in all 3 zones, and has that "champion" attitude which is invaluable. His #"s would get rather sick if he was playing in a more dynamic system.

Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
he's not better right now. but he will be. offensively anyway. and i think even if that doesnt happen mentioning giroux in the same breath as parise will not be a stretch in 1-2 years, heck if he keeps this pace up, even this year offensively, giroux could put up north of 85 points and 35 goals. thats elite. giroux has it written all over him.Raptactics wroteCOLONI just want to know what exactly makes Giroux better, in your humble opinion.SuperMario wroteCOLONGiroux >> Parise.Raptactics wroteCOLONwow.. just wowSuperMario wroteCOLONp.s. Re: Philly Extends Giroux' Contract
at btw as a fantasy option: giroux at 0.822 this season vs parise at 3.125 lets ignore the injury.
next season 3.75 vs what 6+ million? i'll take giroux hands down in both scenarios.
