By all rights. he should be a free agent:

His contract was not submitted during roster submission nor week 1 nor did he have the cap to add him to his bench during roster submission. His cap hit is 1,040,000, but NJD only had $1,030,400 in cap space
He is 27 years old, not waiver exempt eligible

Tyler's mistake was in how he entered the birthdates of several of his players.

Look at his spreadsheet...he put Tikhonov down as '12-5-88' (December 5, 1988)...which would've made him 26 according to the spreadsheet and he'd appear as waiver exempt.

His birthdate is actually May 12, 1988 (5-12-88). He's actually 27 and he would've had to clear waivers if he wanted to start him in the minors.

He should've had to go through waivers on October 6 with the rest of the other waiver eligible players from roster submission.

This is where Lee is correct...as I mentioned, the way Tyler entered the birthdate...his spreadsheet shows him as 26 when he should be 27 and he would've had to clear waivers since he was assigned to the minors at roster submission.

For all intents, Tikhonov is Tyler's player...he was in his roster submission post, on Google and on his Fantrax page. His error was with data entry (birthdates).
