foofnik wroteCOLONPut down $25 to profit $62 on Calgary -1.5 goals last night. That backfired rather quickly.

Put down $30 on the Islanders to win the cup at 18-1 odds. So a profit of $540 if they win it.

Had a DK lineup last night in a basic $2 double up but it got cancelled on me last minute. Had MaxPac, Panarim, Pavelski, Daniel so safe assumption I would have won a whopping $1.60 there.

Nah my bookie has a website. Put my bets on there and settle up with him each week. I get NFL parlay tickets weekly from him but don't play every week.

Close to even on NFL so far (burned bad this past weekend) and up a little in college football. Up a little on DK for the season, mostly NFL but will play some hockey here and there.

Oh ok cool stuff!

I too got burned in the NFL last week. Arizona losing cost me almost 300$ in payouts (20$ of bets or so)

Cleaned house though on the Arsenal vs United game though and hit a smaller NFL parlay ticket so it turned out to be a decent one.

That steelers collapse and the Jays collapse though still stings

I have $25 each on WPG +1.5 goals vs BOS and TB -1.5 goals vs PHI tonight. No DK though maybe I'll throw in a little $1 lineup later.

It varies night to night depending on the slate of games. With a larger bankroll now (take some off when I win of course), I'll typically wager 10-15% of my bankroll which is about $1600 on DraftKings. So that'd be anywhere from say $150-$200 a night.

I have 2 ways I'll approach the games.

1) Build 1 "optimal" lineup, and enter it in everything I want to play. Typicality 20% of my night's action is in tournaments, and 80% in cash games (which are H2H, double ups, triple ups, 50/50).

2) Enter about 10-15 teams in the $3 tournament, each team is entered in a 3 to 5 car train (so each lineup entered 3-5 times, to maximize one of my teams going off).

Here is an example of both of those strategies. As you see my 3 teams getting the same payout maximized that lineups great score, rather than just getting paid for "6th" my team got 6th/7th/8th payouts.

Congrats Shep. I'm just treading water right now, betting about $60 per night. I have always made more in NBA so looking forward to that starting.

Thanks for the great insight Shep.

I had a decent stretch the last few nights in hockey but have yet to hit any home runs as of late. I'm gonna just keep plugging away at my 1$ and 2$ tourneys on FD.

I always seem to destroy my bankroll once the NbA starts haha. I know how to build good hockey lineups but have yet to really figure it out with the NBa. What's your secret for tourney play?

I do better in double ups in both sports but the key to big scores in NBA is finding low price players getting opportunities. A lot of times you look at who are the scratches that night and play someone who will see in increase in minutes since in the NBA minutes equals production. You find these cheap players that put up a decent stat line so you can afford to roster the superstars.

Thanks.

I am going to try more NBA this year. The key is minutes = money. There is so much scoring in NBA that you need to be on the court constantly. But you cannot use players that play 35 minutes that stand in the corner all game.

Hmmmm, I figured that was the case with regards to minutes = money.

Do you stack NBA typically? Or is a lot more mixing and matching?

You can stack games and take players from both sides if it is expected to be a high total with both teams playing at a high pace, but in general stacks are less important than NHL.

There is also a lot of stats and advice on NBA that can be helpful to determine which games, players and teams to target.

The problem with NBA is you have to avoid blowouts so if you have Golden State playing Minnesota although it should be a high pace of play with a lot of offence if GS is up 20 after 3 they will rest their starters so you get less minutes played by your players.

Daily Puck Talk is my site but I am writing for 2 other sites as well. I don't know if they charge for my articles or not as a lot of their content is behind a paywall (those sites are Fantasy Insiders and Daily Fantasy Boot Camp, but I'll link them when I write them.

There is some big tournaments on draftkings tomorrow.
