i'm guessing 4.

i hope its not more but i can see the NHL coming down hard here... this isn't fan jumping into penalty box situation.

I saw this wrong the first time was totally a suspension. Wonder what the fan said lol. Ryp is a wing nut, hell two years ago he took the year off to get his head right....should have spent a little longer away.
It doesn't even look like the fan tried to incite him, was just clapping. I'm thinking 7-10 games.

2) after being confronted by rypien, he raises his hands in the air .. "i didnt do anything" .. pussy.
3) hes a godamn wild fan, like really?

These people are paying money to sit in the stands and support their team play.
Not at anytime does a player have any right to reach into the stands and attack a fan.
Its disrespectful to the game, the Vancouver Canucks franchise, and I personally hope the nhl does more than throw the book at him for these actions.
This fan did absoluteley nothing wrong in my eyes.

should be 10+ games in my books.

Regardless of the suspension Gillis should send him to Winnipeg for the duration of the season.

was kinda having similar thoughts.

I think this is a tough issue to over-state... but also easier to make it seem like Rick did more then he actually did.

Billy is 100% right that the fan did nothing that steps outside the bounds of what a fan can and is allowed to do. However as Shook pointed out to me, we don't know what was said, and if it was too far, well...we all have that point. And with is allowed is not always what is right. Now this does not excuse what Rypien did, and after re-watching the video a few times it's overly apparent to me that Rypien is getting the first big suspension of this season.

Rick grabbed the guy, maybe shook him a little... I'd like to say no harm no foul, but the wild are going to have to give that guy a bunch of free tickets.

Ya obviously this is unacceptable, he didn't do much, but any player that makes that kind of money especially, should be out for at least 5 games for acting out like that to a fan, good thing the fucker is on my bench

I agree with this alot. If you look close you see the fan is leaning and is obviously saying something disgusting to ryp. I think that fan deserved to get kicked out for sure. If you notice the wild staff in the tunnel immediatly kicked the guy out as he heard what was said. This doesn't excuse ryp at all and he deserves something, I am more in the 5-8 range though. To say he needs the book thrown at him is a vast overstatment imo, this is no where near a chirs pronger or chris simon leg stomp degree here. He wont get the Pronger star player discount though so I wouldn't be totally surprised to see it up to 10.

The wild fan wasn't kicked out, he was moved to different seats. I doubt he said anything that bad, judging by his reaction when Rypien engaged into physical contact in him, and the manner in which he raised his arms as if to say "I'm innoncent", it could be a lie on his part, but it looked instinctive and sincere to me.

Yeah the Wild fan even if he was chirping him, so what? Rypein snapped because of what happened on the ice and then took it out on the fan, hes entirely responsible in that situation. Also why are fans allowed to be so close to the tunnel/bench with nothing in between them, seems silly.

Hes looking for a payday plain and simple. Most people in that situation I'd imagine would also try and milk it.

when facey and I met wendel clark we were thinking of asking him to punch us in the face so we would be able to tell people we've been punched in the face by wendel clark. We decided that was a bad idea as we figured wendel wouldnt stop and one punch...

I'd just think that was an awesome story and go with it. If someone tiger'd me over the head, might be different.

I think almost every fan interaction by a player has resulted in a lawsuit of some kind. Seems to be the play made across the board, easy money in the fans views. Especially when you likely greatly dislike the player and the team that your about to sue. Odds are the Wild just give him season tickets, punishment enough I figure and justice done.
