This would be incorrect. I did that the first 2 years and a half years. It is indeed the wrong strategy. I've had Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 exits. Failure all around.gooker wroteCOLONYou know what? I retract this statementgooker wroteCOLONLMFAOFair Deals Steve wroteCOLONMy D sucks and my forwards are pussies
H2H-wise, your forwards are quite lacking in terms of what a stanley cup calibre contending team should comprise of. You got tons of elite/high tier scoring going though, but as Kareem said, I couldn't agree more: After nearly two years of my BBKL tenureship, I realize how important ur d-men are, as they are the ones you rely on for the bulk of your periph stats, and while having high scoring d-men might be kool, loading up ur forwards for scoring, and completing ur d-core with heavy heavy SHTOI-receiving/hitting/PIM-ing/BS-ing d-men are what gives u that edge on that very very close 8-7-1/7-7-2 matchup going into Sunday on a weekly basis. I'm excluding goalie stats in comparison because they can be so random.

Kesler is the best, Parise is the 2nd best H2H out of those forwards, the rest is a big ass toss up lolKapG wroteCOLONI tihnk you own the two best H2H players out of those rosters. I just see more fire power across the board on Steves squad.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONI think the two forwards units are pretty similar, it seems to me that I have the stronger top end, but weaker depth.KapG wroteCOLONSteve is just doing what Steve does ...making it seem like his team is not as good as it really is. I don't think Vancouver forwards even match up with LA. So I don't know how Steve could put Vancouver ahead of him.
So as not to get in an argument with anyone about anything, this is not a slight on Vancouver. The team is far better than it was and is clearly a playoff contender. I just don't see it as a top 2 in the west.
Vancouver
Ryan Kesler
Patrick Kane
Marian Hossa
Ryan Malone
Ryane Clowe
Ryan Strome
Brandon Sutter

Zach Parise
Mike Richards
Brayden Schenn
Ryan O'Reilly
Milan Michalek
James van Riemsdyk

I actually only have a few forwards who dont play on the PK.....tbh, some of my forwards will out produce my dmen on the periphs....Val Filppula, Curtis Glencross, Zach Parise and Milan Michalek are among the leagues best 2 way forwards.gooker wroteCOLONYou know what? That's why if you have elite scoring fwds and limited periph fwd goons, you can still expect consistent scoring during the week and that's something you just expect to follow through. I'm excluding goalie stats in comparison because they can be so random.

Re: BUF/SJS
I think Hossa is a better H2H player than Parise, maybe the numbers say otherwise though?. Parise hasn't been the same player since he smoked that knee of his.
Yet to be seen how he is used in Minnesota too.

This'll take a couple years before we see the real winner.

Judging by the team I took over he probably traded RyJo and Silf for picks

Most people back then thought the James Neal side won. Only 3 years later, I would assume if this deal went through nowadays, people would call this the rape of the year.

Phion did a great job of seeing young talent.
He ripped someone off for Johnny Hockey when he traded Holzer for him.
