John Moore was awesome at the worlds this summer, and the devils just locked him up long term.

Moore was also a very highly regarded prospect coming up. Defenders always take longer to develop for the most part too. Perhaps he is finding his game now? Perhaps a tad risky but there are other benefits to this trade for mike that go beyond stats I have to think

Ya both guys aren't great - likely #5-7 dmen on their respective teams. Moore a little younger, less cap, but really hasn't been as productive as AndyMac. But Mac has more cap and had a shyte year. So really will likely be a wash with me paying the picks for the cap dump.

You think so? I don't see it but who knows... tough to decipher the D situation there, but definitely AndyMac/Schenn/Medvedev/Gudas... even schultz... will be seeing time in the pressbox at some point in the season. Only two guaranteed 82 gamers are streit and MDZ, and that's not saying much.

Yeah it's up in the air right now, but at least starting out it probably looks like this:

Streit - MacDonald
MDZ - Schenn
Medvedev - Gudas/Shultz
Gudas/Shultz Manning

If Hakstol has any kind of balls he will play Manning over one of Gudas/Shultz/MacDonald

Not sure how pairings will go but I think certainty of work goes streit, mdz, Medvedev, Schultz, gudas, Macdonald, Schwann, manning. They also have some solid kids in the system

Schenn gets so much crap but he's actually had stretches of pretty good hockey for the flyers. So I think you should have him further up that depth list of yours mike

All of them are plugs. Literally the only pairings that had a positive corsi correlation last year involved Streit. If I'm ranking them on ability:

Streit
Medvedev
MDZ
Manning
Schenn
MacDonald
Gudas
Shultz
