So they just rest him pretty much every 5th day just to appease him? He has a lot of wear and tear on his knees and hips. His advanced numbers speak to this as he hasn't exactly been Tulo this year. He hasn't really been driving the ball with his lower half.Bruyns wroteCOLONWhy do you think Tulo has bum knees? He hasn't had a history of knee injuries so that doesn't make a lot of sense.

Maybe it has something to do with that recent(ish) hip surgery he had, might not be fully recovered from it. Those so take a bit of time.CasperX22 wroteCOLONSo they just rest him pretty much every 5th day just to appease him? He has a lot of wear and tear on his knees and hips. Re: All Blue Jays
Ill just be pissed if this is another Sergio Santos trickery case 2.0
Re: All Blue Jays
Thing is its always something with Tulo. He's only averaged something like 114 games a season since he became a full time starter. I wouldn't feel too great about having him locked in to that contract with a full no trade clause for 5+ years. It's a curious trade and has certainly made it a fun trade deadline.KapG wroteCOLONMaybe it has something to do with that recent(ish) hip surgery he had, might not be fully recovered from it. Re: All Blue Jays
he's already said he'd waive if they asked him to in a few years
Re: All Blue Jays
Source? Of course by that point he may have broken down enough to be untradeable. Look at the Phillies and Howard. They can't give that man away. They have offered him to teams and to cover the entirety of his contract and still can't trade him even while having a pretty decent season. The BBKL Insider wroteCOLONhe's already said he'd waive if they asked him to in a few years

I'm not too well versed in advanced stats but even while missing all those games he's posted some very impressive WAR numbers.CasperX22 wroteCOLONThing is its always something with Tulo. I'm just far more comfortable with this trade than something where we get a cueto type rental arm that bounces in FA
Agreed that it has made trade deadline pretty fun lol
Re: All Blue Jays
That's the extreme worst case scenario. I'd say Tula is in a bit better shape than that slob Howard though :pCasperX22 wroteCOLONSource? Re: All Blue Jays
Howard is actually in pretty good shape. Never been the same after shredding his achilles...not that he was fleet footed to begin with, but a nice example of just how important your lower half is to hitting and driving a baseball.

Re: All Blue Jays
Highly doubt a gm would speculate talking about a hypothetical trade 3 years down the road right after acquiring the best SS in baseball LOL!

Re: All Blue Jays
Someone asked him about his contract and no trade Claus. He said im sure we would have no issues moving tulo 3 years down the road if we wanted to move him. He said he didnt see his no trade clause bring an issue

Re: All Blue Jays
Love the move. Think Hoffman will be really good but now have a full transition plan to smoothly move from joey and Edwin to Josh and Troy. Team is set offensively for the next 4-5 years and the pitching is on its way. As much as they need starting pitching now you can't turn down a chance to get the best SS in the game.
