Canada (obviously) - Vancouver/Victoria, Dryden/Sault/Subury/Thunder Bay (all over up north in Ontario), Regina (I was really shocked at how nice & fun of a city it is, thought it would be shit), Montreal/Quebec City - I want to do the East Coast very soon, Kyle, Stevie.. I think I'll need a place to stay lol
USA - Port Huron/Detroit/Sault Ste. Marie, New York City/Buffalo/Rochester, Vegas, Seattle, Dallas (went at seen my Boys play) - Florida to come (friends down there)
Mexico - Acapulco (vacation/fishing)
Cuba - Varadero (vacation)

Next year: Egypt (Nile Perch fishing on Lake Nasser with my Dad), Jamaica (Not sure if we're doing Montego Bay or Ocho Rios - friends 10 year wedding anniversary)

I agree east coasters are increidbly hospitable. I work with all kinds of east coasters in my line of work. I feel that people from saskatchewan are a close second as far as canada goes though can't tell you how many times they have amazed me. Saskatoon sent an extra bus for just Facey and I during the world juniors when we got lost downtown lol. By far most hospitable people I have encountered were in turkey though. I was walking mid day down a highway and there wasnt a single car that drove by that didnt offer me and my friend a ride. Finally I accepted a ride back to town from this one guy and then he took us to a little cafe he owned and gave us a free lunch and tea. Thats hard to compete with lol.

Thats an awesome little story. I would have to agree with you about Saskatchewan natives as well. My dad is from Regina and grew up there on a farm. I also have a good buddy from there that married close friend and now lives here. Very nice guy and you would think he was a Maritimer. He is taking 5 of us next fall on a hunting trip there. Can't wait. Dude is a pretty good hockey player as well. Some of the stories he tells are priceless. He is an example of what happens when you get a girl pregnant and have to make a decision on what to do. He could have made a career out of hockey, not necessarily pro but a career none the less. He now works for Pepsi...

I'm liking Dion less and less by the day, defensively he leaves a ton to be desired, hopefully he is able to get his act together by the regulaur season, or at the very least set the tone physically with some big hits.

Offensively I think he's going to get a ton of points the way our pp is clicking.

Nor did I make any outrageous claims for the future, I merely expressed my observations to date, so fuck off.

If you are going to praise the positives in pre-season and view them as meaningful, as I have done with the top line, you cannot then discard the negatives and view them as irrelevent, as you seem to be doing. The pre-season isn't the be all and end all of the NHL, but there are things we can draw from it.

As for Ron Wilson, he has put up great defensive numbers as a head coach, with multiple different defense cores, if this group is as good on paper as we think it is than they should perform...It won't be Ron Wilson that I blame, he has a track record of sucess on defence, our defence core (as a unit) does not.

Thats pitiful, and its up to the coach to get the most out of these players, hes putting together systems that don't work with a lot of our players. The pre-season this year and as in all years past really doesn't matter. Phaneuf since he got here has been a huge positive for the team, does he justify the salary probably not, but he more than justifies what went the other way in the deal for him. Add in his off ice talents, and its foolish to get on him for being ineffective already. You won't get on Wilson whose been here 2+ seasons, but Phaneuf's half season + pre season in which we had a much better record than prior to his arrival, and all his teammates say hes a great influence is enough on you to get on him for being ineffective?

I love Beauch as his defense partner, Beauchemin is phenomenal defensively and makes up for ALOT of Dion's errors. He also stays back which allows Dion to pinch without fear of giving up a breakaway or 2-0 against if he turns the puck over. On paper Kaberle is the better fit, but he isn't strong enough defensively to make it work.
