this was probably one of the posts i had in my mind..however, i see this one is referred to a player that was not drafted in the real draft either (he couldn't, but let's forget about it for a moment), whereas Iilahti was not drafted in the BBKL but was in the real one, so maybe that's the difference.
I thought any player eligible for the BBKL draft was not available for claim out of the period Nick mentioned, but maybe a NHL draftee may be claimed out of that period even if BBKL draft eligible?

personally i'd like BBKL draft eligible players not to be available for claim no matter when, wouldn't it be simpler and clearer?

For authenticities sake I'd like them to be available for claim, similar to how they can be in the NHL, but we need to define the period in which they can be claimed.

We were suppose to create such rule.. Don't know if it ever left that stage though.

There is a rule but i believe we only stipulated successful waiver claims, not specifically FA signings. Like if you place a claim on a player that is on waivers and are successful, you cannot waive that player for 3 weeks is what i believe it is. I am not sure on the trading stipulation.

Okay guys this is a gray area for me, He was drafted in 2007. No one in our league owns him. His rights expired, and he re-entered the 2010 NHL entry draft. He was once again not drafted. Can I pick him up?
Figure I'll take a flyer on a guy doing so well in the finnish elite league.
