Not sure where you're getting this. I heard Nonis on the radio and all he said was that the goon still has a role in the league and on the Leafs. He said to expect to see guys like Broll and Devane in the future.

Also, re Legwand: Dreger said though the Leafs are interested they are not competitive with Ottawa/Buffalo as far as cash/term goes.

im just going off what ive read online.

no reason for him not to play with the sedins on the ES though...They don't have a better option. Nor have the sedins ever played with a winger of his calibre (off the top of my head). the only problem with vrbata is that he is creeping up on ancient status.

if it turns out to be 2nd line ES and 1st unit PP, I can deal with it.
