again bry, you cannot change it when the line for what position they play is blurred. im not being a dick. you are the one who is attaching the wrong motive to me. and i keep saying stop being cynical and focus on the discussion. answer this simple question: how is zetterberg NOT dual-eligible. if you can answer that and convince the majority of the league, we can use your system. but trust me. you wont ever be able to answer it properly. because the system you guys are proposing is flawed. the ONLY system that is possible is using 1 source that we use as our bible: i.e. tsn. it does not matter if we agree with everything on whichever source we use. but whatever that source is, can be the point of reference. after that everything is up to the site. it is the ONLY legitimate way to do it. we can have a vote on which site to use as a reference. that is a reasonable solution. not implementing our own interpretation of the positions because like myself and several other people have said, that is SUBJECTIVE.

no need to get angry. you guys are the ones that have brought this up on multiple occasions. isolating 3 players is opening a new can of worms where we allow the league to decide who to make eligible for what. the simplest solution: lets pick a site to use as a reference and move on.

If that's the case (i'd be fine with that), i think there are 2 options: TSN, the most reliable north american source, or CBS, the easiest route (no work required for mods and players' positions stay the same) but definitely less reliable.

questions if we use TSN:
- all the positions on CBS will be updated accordingly (workload for the mods) or only the ones requested by GMs? (less workload, but some GM would take advantage of CBS wrong positions)
- when there are differencies in the positions listed by TSN and CBS, would that lead to dual eligibility or a straight correction? if it's the latter (as i guess), the sooner we know them the better, to have more time to adjust the rosters
- would the positions set before the start of the season stay the same all season long or would eventual updates on TSN affect them? if it's the latter, that could suggest a way to ease the mods workload to make the adjustments:
GMs could fairly report all the differences on their teams (and mods only take care of those players) .. since otherwise, the positions that would turn out to be different (TSN/CBS) would be corrected anyway during the season once caught..

Guys I am going to state the same opinion here as i did in CC. This is a very simple logic and one i assume everyone could agree with.

We need to agree on 1 objective source of position information. IMO there is no comparison to TSN. They update constantly and are dedicated to hockey. my little analogy is this. Yahoo would have 10 monkeys working on hockey, CBS maybe 8...TSN would have 500 super-monkeys living and breathing hockey. They give dual eligibility to players that truly are dual eligible players. Dispute that all you want. They do exist. So I don't think there would be much disagreement on the source.

I propose we leave things the way the are right now. If a GM has a problem with a certain players position eligibility on there own team or a player on another GM's team, they can go to TSN, get the link and send it to an admin. It will then be changed.

This idea has no subjectivity to it at all. very simple and will let us move forward to where we should be at this time of year. Getting ready for some fun instead throwing your bloody tampons at each other and pulling hair.

This. Or even if that's too difficult, we can just stick with the positions CBS offers. It's not that big of a deal.

There is going to be maybe 15 or 20 players in the league that we have a debate over. We will use TSN as the final answer and early next offseason when we revisit the stat categories again, positionally regularity will have to be a topic. Lets just hug and get ready for some hockey...no homo
