My proposal was June 1st to get it done or after the NHL draft.

Anything in between gives people a specific advantage while hurting others.

I'd like June 1st as it means I am in country for the first few rounds, leaving on June 7th-27th.

My reason that it's not fair that people overlooked in our draft are taken early in the nhl for various reasons.

I'm one of the most prepared for the draft but I think it should be as fair as possible.

Would also like a date set in place moving forward so we don't have to have this discussion every year.

Middle of June would be a worst case scenario, IMO. Reasons:

Draft starts on June 15th
We get through the first 5 rounds
Someone picks a player at 10 AM on the 27th
The NHL draft starts at noon, picks come fast and furious in the NHL draft, they do the first 2 rounds
The next pick in our draft knows who was drafted. Look, there is a 2nd round pick from the NHL draft that is available in the 5th round of our draft.

The above scenario is not a measure of skill or knowledge. Having our draft run through the NHL draft will allow people will run the clock their fully allotted times, which is within their rights, but it leads to slowing down the draft and adding false value to late round picks.

My proposal isn't an advantage to myself. Hell, do it after the NHL draft for all I care. Start them at the exact same time for that matter, this doesn't matter to me. What does matter is an unfair advantage to some people. We've seen it in all the drafts that over lap.

I suggested right after mem cup, the earlier the better I'm ready to go right now! For the reasons above I would like us to either have the whole draft before the nhl draft or have our whole draft after it, should be one or the other

I share this concept on most matters and hopefully we will get there when it comes to this, along with most rules.
But speaking of this year draft date, since there were concerns about how such an early date could affect the BBKL draft execution and experience, we will see how this draft goes first.
