Re: Philly/ Boston
i'll ask again lee: whats the plan here?
Re: Philly/ Boston
I'll be the one flamed as per the norm.
I did this deal because:
I'm rather weak on the wing.
I had Jussi Rynnas in my active roster because of his salary.
I got rid of Ryan Keller.
Hannu has a real chance at the back up role in Chicago because he has NHL experience. If not, I have 3 other NHLers. Plus he doesn't have to clear waivers.

Re: Philly/ Boston
I thinks its more the shock of the deal. Tbh after all the hype on Comrie this feels like a total let down. Im not going to judge the deal, you decided what your team's needs are and addressed them as you saw fit. Just pointing out seems like you went out with a whimper after roaring for a whileKezia wroteCOLONI'll be the one flamed as per the norm.
Re: Philly/ Boston
Yup, interest is what it is. It was either this, or a back up and a 2nd round pick in 2012. This is the deal that I accepted because it addressed my needs. Harding will in all likelyhood play 20 games as usual, and I'm pretty sure one of Toskala, Gerber, Toivenen or Dubi will get me the other 21.Habber wroteCOLONI thinks its more the shock of the deal. Re: Philly/ Boston
The point everyone is making is in regards to the discrepancies between what your saying Comrie is worth (1st line winger for Sidney), what you were asking (LOTS) and what you got (little).
- an aging third line vet (who will get PP time)
- a risk goalie prospect, stretch to call him the backup
- a prospect based on his lastname
If you are right, and he's a LOCK for Sid's wing, 60+pts, and a notable bounce back year then you've got organized your own raping

Re: Philly/ Boston
Lee, what need does this deal address aside from adding Recchi's salary?
you're not going to compete this year and you get a player who is one season away from retiring? honestly it sounds weird to me.

Re: Philly/ Boston
Well, Recchi > Comrie even with a walker ...
Re: Philly/ Boston
You are correct sir. Hellfire and Brimstone spewing from the ground, imminent.facey wroteCOLONThe point everyone is making is in regards to the discrepancies between what your saying Comrie is worth (1st line winger for Sidney), what you were asking (LOTS) and what you got (little).

I'm not the one saying Comrie is a first line winger. Sidney Crosby personally called Comrie to tell him that he wants him to play on his wing. I never once said that he will play the entire season there.
I've made my points as to why I made this trade. Only time will tell if it's the correct decision. That's the fun of a keeper league.
Re: Philly/ Boston
I've addressed why I made the trade. Salary and Games played instead of Rynnas warming the bench. Chicago's possible back up. A player with amazing blood lines. A mid round draft pick. Getting rid of a player that wasn't part of my team going forward.kyuss wroteCOLONLee, what need does this deal address aside from adding Recchi's salary?

I'm not competing this year, and I would also struggle to meet the games played requirements by dressing non NHLers for salary reasons. It's fair to assume why I am assembling the team that I am. I don't think players like Recchi and Draper are taking me to the promised land, they are taking me through the season and hopefully retiring with their salary.
Re: Philly/ Boston
I think you'll see Recchi go for another year. And yes he will be good for 4--50 points again and possibly more lined up with Bergeron and Seguin likely. I still think Comrie is an injury crapshoot. I like him for the potential but most importantly the 500,000 cap hit. And am i missing something, whats wrong with Keller? is there another story i dont know about? someone fill me in. Because it is still drop season is it not? lol

Re: Philly/ Boston
boo hoo
Re: Philly/ Boston
so he basically needs to be dropped...fair enough. Actually he can still be put in the minors so why not...
Re: Philly/ Boston
Yeah, that's why I said that he "needs" to be included in the trade I don't have space for him, I'm still over but have other considerations.mr. bruin wroteCOLONso he basically needs to be dropped...fair enough. Actually he can still be put in the minors so why not...
Re: Philly/ Boston
i am missing why this deal makes you so confident about getting more GP.. Toivonen playing in the NHL this year is far from a guarantee, unless i'm missing something here.Kezia wroteCOLONI've addressed why I made the trade. Re: Philly/ Boston
Rynnas gets me exactly 0 games played while taking up a roster slot, Recchi should get me 50 while taking up the same salary. Toivenen might be the back up in Chicago, and if not, I still have Harding, Toskala, Gerber and Dubi.kyuss wroteCOLONi am missing why this deal makes you so confident about getting more GP.. how is Rynnas so related with this trade that you keep bringing him up?Kezia wroteCOLON Rynnas gets me exactly 0 games played while taking up a roster slot, Recchi should get me 50 while taking up the same salary. what i'm saying is that it seems to me like anyone's guess which of the 2 packages gets more GP this season, so i don't get how GP can be a factor in making this deal.
