Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
Both would have been C's and Holland would have been moved to the wing next year when one (if not both) Raymond and Kuelmin leave via UFAs
Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
Man i am so excited to see how far holland and max reinhart goes in their development next yr. Reinhart gets recalled last nite and assists a goal np. Future is extremely bright for that kid. Also larsen and gustafsson (shafted due to macdonald acquisition) are solid nhlers who shud hold a gig and be productive next yr wherever they play

Kulemin was good last night, Franson was our worst player.
Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
I find Cody & Jake make mistakes on the opposite end of the spectrum. Jake often tries to do too much, to force a play and show his hands/skating/body positioning - or when he's trying to be a defensive dman with quick dumps and stuff, he's just no good. Has to be an over-active dman to be effective, If I were randy, I'd have Jake watching vicdeo's on keith, abuse the flow of his skating, attack like a chipmunk and avoid getting tied up.
- Cody appears to me, to plan on too easy a play, without enough effort - from being first to a puck, to checking a man in front of the net or too casual a pass through an opposition player. When he's working hard the guy is awesome, big, relatively good feet, amazing shot and sound positioning. Dream 2nd pairing dman IMO.
Reilly's obviously super high ceiling, but man he looks like a junior player/rookie on some of his rushes, going to do it all himself without any look-off's or awareness of his passing options as he goes through the zones. Just a matter of time before he'll be able to recognize the positioning of the defenders and get the puck where the attack can begin.
Because of our core of Dion, Gunner, Jake, Cody and Reilly - I believe we do need to focus on development rather than replacement. Gleason/Ranger/minors should be able to fill the 6/7 spots. But acknowledging that our good D are young, should temper our acceptance of breakdowns. Once Dion is a collected and even more stable (28-30+) Cody and Gunner 28 and the others are 25ish this should be a strength. Not having enough patenice with these guys would be a mistake IMO.

Even tho i agree with a lot of what you've said nick, i think Jake's getting to the point where 'what we see is what we're going to get'
he's a solid bottom pairing guy, but is very replaceable within.

Gardiner should be moved to upgrade elsewhere. Rielly has already passed him and he makes more mistakes than he does good plays.

Gardiner can be replaced within. I guess this Granberg fella has big game potiential (from the leafs scouting reports - they seem to think he's NHL ready)
Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
I find the only time jake turns the puck over is when he is pressured. Seems to make great plays when given time and space but is a Aki Berg as soon as he is hounded. He also seems to be afraid of getting hit. Always makes mistakes trying to avoid hits.
I agree with your franson assessment. Complaceny is his worst enemy.
IMO you guys need upgraded defence. You have a gem in Reilly but need to upgrade around him and Dion. Great team defence and vezina type goalie tending seems to be masking their deficiencies. As a Canuck fan I know about windows closing, your forward are ready, waiting for your defence to catch up just seems like a way to limit ones window to me. Seems to me you guys are one top 4 D-man away from being a legitimate contender so why wait on a player like gardiner to develop? He may never reaches top 4 status but he could be a main piece for trade in order to land one.
Just my opinion on that. Nonis seems to be doing the same thing he did in Vancouver which wait it out. didn't help us at all and doubt it helps you guys either. First time commenting on anything in a while haha

Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
Good comment shook, i tend to agree.
For the price of some of these dmen went for i would have at least grabben one of them, and used jake (as shep suggested) to upgrade a forward.
Maybe package jake with Reimer or Raymond for a better forward.

I think Nonis will make a push next year. It wouldn't have been possible to fix 2-3 things at the deadline and paying for rentals isn't smart. Our window is fairly long with our core being young.shooker wroteCOLONI find the only time jake turns the puck over is when he is pressured. But I can guarantee Nonis will change the make-up of our D very soon, likely at the draft. I agree entirely about our forwards being ready and our D just needing fixing. It's going to happen soon Shook! I think if we win a round this year, next year is when we do it.

Re: Players on your team likely to be traded
Gaborik to the Kings may have been extremely under-discussed.
Looking really good on a line with Kopitar & Williams, he's actually experienced in scoring lots of goals in a very defensive system, and pushes their top 9 forwards into the stratosphere
Gaborik - Kopitar - Williams
Richards - Carter - Tiffoli
King - Stoll - Brown
even their 4th line with Clifford, Lewis & Nolan can handle their own...

Fine....dont bother making thread titles or having subgroups then. You have no clue about forum moderation or organization. I could give twofucks if your talking about leafs or not. You could be talking about oranges. Just keep it in the oranges thread or anything closely related. Its not the content, its the location.
