Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
These are the waiver guidelines for those that do not know.
Any player who is over 21 years of age & has played in more then 150 games needs to clear waivers (up or down). Any goalie who is over 22 years of age, and has played in more then 75 games needs to clear waivers. Any player over 28 must clear waivers.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
asking for some clarifications here.
In the examples available at the link you posted it says "As you can see for the total to be 18 you can be below the 3 centers, 7 wingers, 6 Defenseman, 2 Goalies numbers assigned for maximums. "
this active lineup is considered correct:
4 Centers
6 Wingers
7 Defenseman
1 Goalie
so those numbers seem to me to be a maximum but not a minimum.
In fact months ago i got confirmation i could put only one G in my entire lineup.
now, would be ok submitting the following starting lineup?
4 centers
8 wingers
7 defensemen
1 goalie
+ 3 press-box players

Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
The second lineup is acceptable, yes. Not sure what the first question was asking though.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
thx.. the first was not a question actually, just an introduction to my question, pointing out how what are listed as "Roster Positions (Max/Min)" only seem Maximum to me.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONThe second lineup is acceptable, yes. Not sure what the first question was asking though.

Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
I just confirmed with Scott on MSN that the 27th at noon is also when we need to be down to 60 players.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
I am not sure if it is stated in the rules but with an expected large amount of players going to be on waivers right after roster submission day it must be know that teams making claims on waiver eligible players have to place these players in there active roster. They cannot be buried in the minors.

Would it not be they have to fit in the player's active roster but they can be sent to the minors but have to pass through waivers again first?mr. bruin wroteCOLONI am not sure if it is stated in the rules but with an expected large amount of players going to be on waivers right after roster submission day it must be know that teams making claims on waiver eligible players have to place these players in there active roster. Yea that sounds about right. I guess just another way of stating it. i think it may have been taken care of last season becasue we had an issue with it before..Habber wroteCOLONWould it not be they have to fit in the player's active roster but they can be sent to the minors but have to pass through waivers again first?mr. bruin wroteCOLONI am not sure if it is stated in the rules but with an expected large amount of players going to be on waivers right after roster submission day it must be know that teams making claims on waiver eligible players have to place these players in there active roster. Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
The one thing we have to watch is lets say I claim a player off you and to try send him down. You claim him back from me not having wanted to lose him in the first place. Whats to stop a never ending cycle of claims between 2 teams for the same player. If we already dont have a rule on it I think its a loophole that needs to be addressed before the waiver period starts. Something like you cant claim a player that you have personally owned in the past week or something, idk exactly how it would work but something to consider.mr. bruin wroteCOLONYea that sounds about right. Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
Hmmm, check NHL/CBA rules -> I'd wager they've covered this.

Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
Im sure they have, but Im pretty sure we havent in our rules so I figure it needs to be brought up before we run into the problem
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
Yea that's an interesting one Chuck, never thought of that issue. Needs to be clarified, imo.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
I don't feel like reading through the CBA right now, someone else is welcome too.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
Yea, its not in there Nick. Shouldnt there be some rule that if you claim a player off of waivers he has to be on your active roster for at minimum one fantasy week? Otherwise people can just keep claiming players and waiving them instantly. There has to be a rule for that in the real NHL. You cant just claim a guy and instantly waive him can you. That makes a complete mockery of the system.
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
that sounds good to me.
A player cannot be put on waivers more then once during a scoring period.

That pretty much means if you claim a guy, he has to be on your active 23 for at least a week before you try to send him down?
A few questions...
When can we start posting our final rosters? We have a deadline but can we submit them any time before then or do we all have to do it on Deadline Day?
Where are we posting our final rosters and the list of players that have to clear waivers? I'd like to know where I can find all of the players that will be on waivers.
Will there be a separate thread in the transactions forum or will it be in the waivers thread?
Re: ROSTER DEADLINE DAY
Shoalzie buddy, tell me you read the sticky that says ATTENTION: NEW THREADS IN TRANSACTIONS AREA. Please see that for your answers in regards to waivers.
And in response to your first question, yes, If you claim a player he has to be able to be placed on you active roster for minimum 1 week. Otherwise it would be pointless to claim him and immediately put him back on waivers. We need to bring these rules to the CC and get them written up in the CBA.
Also, should we not have the waiver wire open up a few days before roster deadline? That way you can have those players in the correct place before you submit your starting lineup?
