Which Hockey Teams Do You Follow The Most?

As the title says, which hockey teams do you follow the most, and why?

NHL:

Toronto Maple Leafs (home team)
Tampa Bay Lightning (I've consistently found their style of play to be the most entertaining offensively since the lockout)
Colorado Avalanche (my good friend is an Avs fan, and we go back and forth taking shots at one anothers team, I also really like Stewart/Stastny/Wolski)
Washington Capitals (OV)
Los Angeles Kings (they are the most exciting team to watch after 12pm)

OHL:

Ottawa 67's (favourite junior club)
London Knights (Nazem Kadri)
Windsor Spitfires (most exciting OHL club atm)
Guelph Storm (HUGE Michael Latta and Peter Holland fans)

SEL:

Timra (goes without saying really)

Flames and Oilers at least 40 games last year (worked in northern alberta no much else to do but watch)
Leafs (have to know them to be able to throw out some decent arguments with my leaf friends)

I watch loads of hockey and watch many teams but those are the only ones I can say I followed on a very regular basis. The best part about being on the west coast is that you get to watch two games a night if you arent busy and be in bed by 1030 at the latest lol or 1130 if im in alb.

Since I was a kid I have always found the Oilers to be (by far) the most boring team in hockey (post 80's of course). Now they have my favourite player in hockey...Needless to say I'm not looking forward to it, LOL.

I find it interesting that you watch a team you hate alot, you're reasoning certainly makes sense, but I have to say, I've never had the desire to watch a Nucks game unless they were playing another team I liked, ditto with Montreal and now Boston (oh who am I kidding, I like Krejci too much, no homo).

Being in L.A. East Coast games are already over by the time I get home from work ... I'll leave a Kings game on in the background every now and then though. If I'm home or on a weekend I'll watch a Buffalo or Philly game if it's on ...

Leafs - home team, favourite team.
Nucks - Kevin Bieksa.

OHL:

Spits - favourite OHL team, super exciting to watch
I pretty much watch a lot of OHL any team except London, fuck the knights!

WHL:

Giants - personal favourite team from the west.
Brandon - fun system to watch

NCAA:

try to watch as much as I can, not a lot avaiable, favourite team is BGSU.


The breakdown to what leagues I watch the most is probably something like:

OHL : 60%
NHL : 30%
WHL&NCAA : 10%

OMG...I know!!!!!! I can't talk about this with most Leaf fans, because they tell me I have to support my team no matter what, blah, blah, blah. But truth be told, I couldn't stand to watch the Leafs post lockout, it was so bad that I began to hate most of the players on the team (Matt Stajan, Jasn Blake, Jamal Mayers, Eric Lindros, Jason Allison, Niklas Hagman, Hal Gill, Vesa Toskala, Brian Mccabe, Pavel Kubina ). I honestly began to wish for injuries to all of them, when Blake got diagnosed with cancer I LOL'ed (yeah I'm an ass, but we already knew that), and when Mccabe was traded I wrote "Best day of my life" on facebook. And words cannot describe the happiness I felt when this happened...

In fact, for two straight years (Schenn and Kadri years) I voted against the Leafs every single game, it was a double win, because I didn't have to cheer for the clowns above, and it was for the greater good (legit talent through the draft). Nick and Billy can both attest to my commitment to the Tank.

Post lockout yeah...We were fucking brutal, if anyone disagrees they are either naive, an alcholic, or in denial. Perhaps all of the above. Hey, what do you know, looks like we leafs fans (pre lockout) and you Nucks fans aren't so different afterall

Leafs -> missed 1 game last year I believe.
Chicago -> past 4 years I've missed very few televised games (nhl center ice/ + online streams), former roomie is a die hard
Canucks -> I live here... parents and best friends are fans... i dunno if i missed a game.... 10+ games lives 3 years in a row

Notable gap from planning to watching when free:

NYI -> watching my boi JT... also big Okposo fan.
Philly -> Favorite style of hockey, insane pace, focus on puck location, hard physical
ANA -> see above + more focus on skill, no where near the depth, easier to watch cause of time zone.
LAK/SJS/BOS -> I love the fore-check focused teams that have drafted well and play a style of hockey I'd support/coach/etc, not saying they are the same.
CGY/FLA/ALT -> i liked several players on the team, Jaybo, Phaneuf, & Iggy/ Horton, Frolik / Kovy, Kane, Bogo

whoever else they are playing given that its half the league LOL.

I don't really watch much EDM, CAR, NSH, NYR, CBJ, PHX.


I watch 10+ giants games live, try and catch kamloops or kelowna... maybe brandon but their always at the end of a long road trip so its a poor showing.

67s! (toffoli) / petes (watson) / oil kings (pysyk) / thunderbirds (pickard)... hardly follow ncaas...

I try to keep up with the news on every team but as far as up close I follow:

Buffalo Sabres

I am from a northern suburb of Buffalo so I attend quite a few games live every year and we get to see every one of their games on tv and just a simple hometown fan.

Detroit Red Wings

This is my all time favortie team, not sure why but back in the very early 90's when #91 broke into the league and when Mike Vernon went to them I just started liking them. I have always been a goalie fan and liked Vernon previously so ever since then I have been a die hard Wings fan. My goal is to make it to Detroit to see a game live in Detroit but I do go every time they come here and yes I do root for Detroit when they come here.
