As long as we still have our first all is good ;).
having our 1st is key, forsure

id still rather make the playoffs

we need to start some campaign. To get Marc Crawford hired, man he'd be an excellent fit with this team. We'd finally rid ourselves of burke and his horrible hirings (wilson + randy)
trust me, I would rather make the playoffs too. It's just if we DON'T there is atleast a bit of a silver lining.

A quote of mine from May on these boards... I have disliked Carlyle since the day he was hired and it seems some of the MSM are starting to see the light.

"I also can't believe people could think Carlyle was shunned or overlooked or whatever. Therrien in MTL was more deserving and I dislike MTL more than any other team and can admit that. I thought Carlyle did a terrible job of personnel management, Gardiner and Grabovski having a great 1st round further reinforced how badly he mismanaged them and he has driven another quality FW in MacArthur out of town although he isn't that important to the Leafs future.

IMO the Leafs made the playoffs in spite of Carlyle not because of him. They rode a high PDO and remarkable goaltending to the playoffs and were severely outplayed and outshot down the stretch as Randy continued to dress McLaren and Orr nightly while sitting Gardiner and relegating Grabovski to low minutes while inflating Bozak's value by continually playing him with our best wingers."

I agree with the above statement, and we can hate on Grabo, MacA, etc.... all we want for having hateful words about the leafs management - but we have to remember they had nothing but praise for the fanbase...they blamed Randy's style and role last season.

We need someone who's a team builder, that will let the Kessels, JVRs and Raymonds use their speed and score goals,,,Like kessel looks lost out there, almost no direction, it's like he can't figure out what he's suppose to do - he wasn't built to play a 2 way game.

I hope Rielly goes to the WJs and comes back to a new coach in Toronto. That would be ideal, but I'm pretty sure if we get rid of Randy it will be in the offseason unless we bottom out and fall like a rock in the standings.

Was always a grabo fan, i was also sad to see him go

looking back (and even tho i love clarkson - not sure why - must be his good looks) i think i'd rather Grabo over him.

I know I have clarkson and everything so it may seem biased...

but man, he has looked like the least of our problems. He is great at cycling the puck (needs bolland back), is tough, tons of heart, pretty solid shot. Worth his contract? Probably not but that hit wont be an issue going forward what with the cap rising..

Nonis either needs to fire Randy or trade some guys and bring in a few more guys who can play his style of game. Watching the leafs lately is like watching my dog trying to chase his own tail..

i dont have a dog, but i compare the leafs to a Junior C team, trying to compete in a Junior A world.

Are they actually not letting him go?

well...not a terrible thing as long as they feed him heavy minutes with the big club. Seems Randy likes him more than gardiner at this point...

game used Phaneuf stick showed up at my work today. Thing's pretty beast.

When it arrived a colleague told me he got a goddam Andy Wozniewski (signed) at the leafs equipment sale a few years back for under a hundred bucks which he now uses for men's league. Such a great idea, get a $350+ stick for under a hundred just because it had the misfortune of being used by some plug for 3 minutes.

I kind of disagree. Even though the leafs have lost 99 out of their last 100 games, they are still in the playoffs due to a pretty pathetic east. Considering Reilly has been one of your better D to this point, it only makes sense to keep him in order to preserve this season. If you get in the playoffs anything can happen. I understand the decision from the leafs and agree with it.

I must say it is entertaining listening to the gripes of Maple Leaf fans. Go Leafs Go... That is one dedicated fan base!

Mason Raymond sits third on the Leafs in scoring and yet started the game on the fourth line, replaced by David Clarkson on 2nd unit.
That Jonas fella who tweets leaf shit - ripping Randy

love it LOL
