Hey guys,

With the new season right around the corner the BBKL is looking for some strong voices to form our CC. These people must be able to understand both sides of the picture and voice opinions to help better the leauge. Also they are needed to solve any mid-season issues that may arise. Our current and past CC have done great jobs to get this league to this point and it is time to look to a new CC to take us furthur. Please post here if you are interested in the positions available...

Thanks Mashley, I would really like to keep my present status in the CC. I feel I bring a usually unbiased opinion with league improvement my main goal. If i am still wanted, I would like to be a part of it!

wont be working for the next couple months due to a broke ass knee so I will have the time if need be. If anyone else wants a spot by all means chose them over me, but if spots need to be filled I will easily be active enough for the next few months.

A couple of things on this...

- disappointed to see Neel stepping down, i appreciated his work even before joining (reading the old forums, his contribution was actually even one of the reasons why i decided to join).

- i don't think anyone should be part of the CC before 'experiencing' the game.. i.e. before really playing and seeing how rules apply when games are finally underway. We guys who joined in the offseason can't have a complete feeling about some things until we actually play.

- since a few guys have mentioned my name among the candidates.. for the aforementioned reason i would not feel ready to contribute properly until November at least, AND i don't know at the moment if, comes november, i'll be very busy with my job or fairly free for a couple of months.. so i can't know now about my availability. So, i guess i could welcome someone else taking the load. Preferably Neel keeping his spot.

I actually feel that Kareem needs to have a vote in CC. I know he has mod privileges, but he knows whats going down and is the most active member on this site. IMO, he needs to be in there whether he likes it or not!

Here is the thing guys, we like to get a new group of CC every couple of months to help rid of stale ideas and bring in a new look on some issues...doesn't mean new guys every term but a new group...Some guys are so vital to the activity and thought process of the CC that it is almost impossible to ask them to leave...

Steve and Neel, I hope you guys are just stepping down to give others a shot and it is nothing to do with anything that has happened? I wasn't even aware you guys both were stepping down.

Kyuss, you have a good point about the game experience, however, the majority of things that happen in the CC are during the offseason when all the change happens so its almost easier during the season.

Tony would indeed be an excellent choice into our CC because he is super active and always has strong ideas

Kyle is almost a sure bet, he is by far the most active CC member and has the great ability to see both sides of many situations and make a strong post with regards to both.

Facey brings a lot of smarts to the CC and when teamed with Kyle can often make great rulings together.

Kareem, although sometimes bias is quite obviously one of the strongest members on the fourms for the simple fact he is very hockey smart.

The real thing we are looking for in the CC is someone who a) won't be affraid to disagree with someone like Kareem, Nick, Kyle, Myself, Mike etc. and b) is a good writer of the rules, someone who can write down rules clear enough for everyone to understand but complex enough to avoid any possible loop holes.

anyway that is just my take on things, and after a couple more posts Mike, Scott and Myself will be read over this thread and go from there and get our new CC ready to take over starting tomorrow to take the start of the season term.!

Yeah I resigned from the CC because of school obligations, nothing happened. Had a great time being a part of it and may re-apply whenever a new opening comes up. New layout? its pretty different.
