As I told ennzie, pretty even trade, Franson's cap hit is amazing and his # are good. But Chara is one of the best BBKL dmen (and irl too). Boucher is a money prospect, just another year or so from being worth a ton more than this.

I'd give it to Phoenix, but I think Boucher is a risky prospect since his skating is a weakness and there's no guarantee he can translate his offense to the NHL level. That being said can't blame Colorado for adding Franson on the upswing of his career and a high reward prospect and cashing in on Chara before he shows too many signs of decline.

I understand the appeal of Cody Franson, but I can't get behind this trade for Colorado given the fact that Chara is a proven, and reliable stud defenceman. Franson has alot to prove before his value is at that level, even with cap considerations taken into account. Just my .02.
