It has come to my attention that I can keep Savard's cap hit on the books till 2017. I wrongly assumed since he is on LTIR his cap hit did not count towards my total cap during the season and I still needed to be above the floor not counting Savard's 4M. With this new information I feel it was dumb of me to drop him since I don't have much cap spent right now.

If it is permissable I would like to keep Savard due to my ignorance of the way cap is handled and if not since I already posted he was being dropped I will live with the consequences.

As I said, no problem to you retracting that drop.

For your and others benefit, an overview of our version of standard and LTIR:

Standard IR: player injured, you post in the IR thread with a credible source to the injury. This effectively gives you an extra bench slot. Player is eligible back the following week.

LTIR: Save as above, though you get the added bonus of cap relieft. NOT the player who is injured, mind you, but his replacement(s) up to the cap number of the original injured player.

Example: Kris Letang (3.5mil) gets injured. I put him on LTIR. My cap situation does not change, but I have up to 3.5 mil to spend on his replacement(s). For starters, I call up Keith Aulie ($925,000). Aulie's cap doesn't count and I still have 2.575mil in space under Letang. I then make a trade for Ron Hainsey. His cap (2mil) fits under that as well.

3 weeks (this is minimum) later I reactivate Letang, send Aulie down, and now Hainsey's cap hit counts as well.
