was hoping for a bit less tbh, something like 1.7M, but i guess that's the result of it being 3yrs long and it should still be a pretty good contract down the road.Lee wroteCOLON2 perLee wroteCOLONSens sign RFA defenceman Patrick Wiercioch to a three year contract

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Move a couple to the wing. I also dont think jumbo deserves a spot. He isnt what he used to be and was always an underachiever on team canada. I also dont think J Staal, Carter or Couture have a shot. Id love for couture to get a spot over mikey but i dont see that happening.gooker wroteCOLONProbably the hardest spots to fill is the centre position... how the fuck do you choose four out of Crosby/Stamkos/Getzlaf/Bergeron/Staal/Staal/Richards/Thornton/Tavares/Couture/Toews/Carter?? I rather getz not be on the team as well. Canada never fairs well on big ice because we have insisted on bringing the likes pf getz, jumbo, heaters etc who cant skate well enough. I hope we focus more on speed this time or we will face the same fate as japan and italy.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Ya, as for C, I was arranging a bunch of different combos and the best I came up with was:
Crosby
Stamkos
Toews
One of JT/Getzlaf
Crosby
Stamkos
Toews

oh ya def add a 5th man in Kadri we'll need a bench
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
I would almost guarantee Bergeron is on team and plays a larger role. Him and Toews would be unstoppable on dot and with pk.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
once again a bruin fan overvaluing his players. typical
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
he is a lock on the team. Few centers have had a bigger impact in both the regular season and playoffs over the last few years then that man. He was huge last time and will be necessary for Canada to win this time around imo.CAM wroteCOLONI would almost guarantee Bergeron is on team and plays a larger role. I would love to see both Bergeron and Couture on that 4th line. A great left and right handed C for faceoffs where ever and could be put out against anyone. I just don't think Couture will make it. This past season sure helped him as imo he was the heartbeat of that team, but I think he needs to have a rapid start to stand a chance.
I think both Giroux, Stamkos and E Staal would be better utilized on the wing, but would like to see Tavares at C with his foot speed.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Giroux is unreal on the dot - and displaced both Richards & Carter down the middle. Also centered for Stamkos at the world with great chemistry. A lock IMO for #2 C.

Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Bergeron will be the third line shutdown center, IMO. He has no business on the top two lines over the likes of: Crosby, Toews, Staal, Giroux, Tavares, and Stamkos.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Nash - Crosby - Toews
E.Staal - Giroux - Stamkos
Perry - JT - Duchene (guess)
Richards - Bergeron - ?

I think that's where we all want him lol. More likely 4th with Toews the third tough.MSP4LYFE wroteCOLONBergeron will be the third line shutdown center, IMO. He has no business on the top two lines over the likes of: Crosby, Toews, Staal, Giroux, Tavares, and Stamkos.

On a side note, I think it's ridiculous that Lupul wasn't even invited to camp. He has been one of the most productive wingers in the world the last two seasons.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
Im not overvaluing at all. You putting Kadri in is a joke. Btw, he was not invited, lol.

that's because he's automatically on the team, an invite is not needed.CAM wroteCOLONIm not overvaluing at all. You putting Kadri in is a joke. Btw, he was not invited, lol.
Re: NHL Transactions, Injuries & Rumours
team Canada is based on years of pedigree though.
I love Lupul, but is he going to displace Eric Staal?
I did not like bergeron last olympics, but admit he was beastly during these past 2 playoffs. Like him at camp, hope they are evaluating lots of options.

gotta admit, I absolutely hate those lines. Too many guys playing off wing and such.Nick wroteCOLONNash - Crosby - Toews
