Montreal wasn't entitled to anything in this case...you wouldn't have a shot at him without the cap going down. Bergevin has the team turned around...a playoff appearance after an awful season and they just had a tremendous draft. Vinny was a guy that was never meant to be for the Habs.

Also hearing that PHI gave Vinny a NMC - which was a dealbreaker with many teams, particularly DET. PHI was willing to do it though. Buy out Briere + Bryz. Bring in Vinny + Streit.
