ANA/TBL -> HELMets on !

Post by Nick »

:o :o

To ANA : Patrice Cormier + Christian Thomas + NJD 1st 2011

To TBL : Darren Helm

Nasty overpayment I know, but he's a piece that I wanted.

No one is screaming rape on this?

Its really weird the trades people feel like they should harp on... I was almost looking forward to the bashing.

You told us what you were going to offer earlier, than you wrote nasty overpayment.

Thats like screaming rape after telling us you've been lubed up and kyle'd, we all knew what was coming.

Perhaps a message to GM's who don't like being told that your deal is crap? Just say it in advance.

ps-> I love that Kyle is becoming a verb, however I don't think lubed & kyled go together...

You are smarter then a 5th grader.

Darren will never ever put up offensive #'s like Logan, but his defensive #'s are already reasonable...just hope he keeps his TOI.

Honestly... price of Centres has increased drastically in this league. I probably should have continued working with Mike on Cogilano, however the FOW/SHTOI/HITS of Helm seemed like worthy additions.

Helm is not flashy or exciting like Couture, Backlund, Bergfors, Cogliano, etc, but he does some different stats well enough... Making use of the 5C was a crucial decision to me... why else have 4 good centre-men only to give the category away to someone with 5 guys...

That NJ 1st is pretty much the equivalent of an early 2nd round pick...so on the surface, seeing that in the deal doesn't make it quite as bad. I'm a Helm fan...he hits, kills penalties, wins half of his draws and he'll chip in with 30-35 points. He's a very solid checking line center. He's yet to sign but it's probably not going to be for much more than $1 million a year, if that. He's a good piece...paid quite a bit to get him but he'll deliver on his core categories.
