Agreed.
Why would he sign that? Who is his agent? The guy should be fired.
Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
Apparently the only reason he even filed was he wanted 1.25 (still a steal), and the Senators wanted 0.9. They met at 1.0, man after that Macarthur deal everyones trying to stay away from arbitration.
What happened with Wheeler I was under the impression that the ruling was made public in 48 hours, then the team had 48 hours to accept/reject. Hasn't it been those first 48 already?

Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
Rumour is ~2.4 for Wheeler don't know if its accurate no confirmation thus far. If thats the case its a great deal.
Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
Blake Wheeler has been awarded a one-year, $2.2 million arbitration award. The decision was made today following Wheeler's arbitration hearing on Tuesday in Toronto.
Wheeler has yet to sign a contract for the award, but that is considered a formality. The Bruins are not expected to walk away from the award.

Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
Wow Wheeler at 2.2 is much less than I thought he'd get.
Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
TBH thats where I thought he would be I knew he wouldnt be more than Fleichman, Moulson, Raymond or any of those boys. Thats not saying he doesnt have potential to be better, but his aweful year hurt his pay for sure.
Re: NHL Transactions Thread - Fowler, Wheeler, Regin, Ladd
Yea he has had a 45 point rookie year and his last season was 38 points. His award is in the range. He made 875,000 last season but his cap hit was 2.8 from all his bonuses...I think him being .6 lower is nice for the B's....
