the messed up part is tampa posting the deal. i even commented on the post saying "dont ever tentatively confirm a deal." why post if you were going to talk to shep anyways? was nick a back up? a just in case where sheps deal fell through?

real bitch move tampa. not exactly the right way to start out in the league lol.
I didn't post the deal. I told Nick no less than 5 times that I wanted to speak with Shep first. He kept pressuring me because Mike's deal for Kane was hinging on our deal.

Nothing against you Kezia personally, but this is why I've always said (and always been opposed) that no NEW GM can post even tentative deals. Its bullshit, because most of the time any deal posted feels like it has to be agreed to. It happened this time that Nick posted, and this happened and now look at it.

Should be a simple rule, no posting no anything till those 2 weeks are up.

Actually, I never offered Carcillo in the Kane deal. Once I acquired him he was requested.

Nick kept saying that our deal was going to fall through because another one, didn't specify which, was hinging on our deal and was about to fall through. At the time, Nick's offer was obviously better and I told him multiple times that I wanted to talk to Shep first. Kept pushing so I said that I would tentatively accept, with the addendum that it may fall through pending a better offer from Shep. He agreed to that. I spoke with you to ask if I would be able to cancel the trade pending an offer from Shep, not knowing at the time that it was your deal that would fall through, you agreed to it.

That would be my deal for Carcillo. I hadn't considered flipping him in the Kane deal at this point.

Here is the thing then it should have been specifically written in the deal at the bottom all you wrote was tentatively confirmed because u were tlaking to another gm. If you felt strongly then you shouldnt have even wrote confirmed and told Nick I won't write that until I talk to the other GM.

Here is my problem with this. For all we know you thought Nick's deal was great and no one could beat it. But what happened is the BBKL mob comes in and puts all their bashing comments like they do about how oh I would have did this or god thats it. This could have swayed you at this point. I feel that this deal and no offense Shep but it should stick through because if we all got to post our deals and let the mob let us know what they think maybe some deals wouldn't go through. I am not saying you didn't like Shep's deal but at the same time it is not fair to change your mind after the million bad trade calls came out. No one twisted your arm Lee to come in and say anything if Nick wanted to post that is his perogative, but no one told you to write anything underneath. Then you followed with comments such as if Cormier wasn't in NJ I wouldn't have done this deal and the thing about the other guy who you said is a steal, so in my opinion you felt like this was the best deal. As for Shep I understand you were away but he chose to go ahead and make the deal and that is out of your control. Sorry I am venting but after looking at this and thinking a while this isn't right.

I'm not going to post the same thing over and over again.

If everyone wants to have this much sand in their vagina's over a clause in a trade that the owner of the league and the GM that I was negotiating with agreed to, just fucking cancel both trades and I'll keep Couture.

My idea's never changed at all about Cormier. Everything that I said in these topics, I said to Nick on MSN. Sheps deal was the one I wanted from the start because Ross and Morin are personal favourites of mine. If I wasn't pressured into make the tentative deal, none of this retarded conversation would have happened.

Lets just drop this one...This is real messy. First, we have a brand new GM who is on probation and thought he was doing something totally legit and asked for guidance from two experienced members. Both of those members also had a subjective opinion as they would be affected by the decision. So while everyone wants to slam the new guy, give him some slack. It was a mistake and he now realizes what not to do in BBKL. It is a cardinal rule that he had no idea of the ramifications. Mike and Nick are not that upset about it and have even defended him to a point. Those were the parties involved and they have seemed to agree with each other. Lee is not an idiot and as time goes on you will realize will be on of the elite members in this league. This can go down as prime example as to why we do not allow posting of any trade by a new GM until there time is up. But this can also go in the same category as all the GMs who were posting trades before playoffs were over with tentative in the title. Every one of those GMS could have backed out without ramifications. Would have been super dirty and slimy, but legit. This is a lesson learned, simple as that...

Lee dude, I was super honest that I thought that was bs and I was asking for clarification...

And to say you didn't confirm? come on, all I said was admitting some pressure on the other side ( the 10+min of waiting cost me that 3rd btw). I was working towards confirmation.. it's easy to just let this slide, but don't try and say you didn't confirm or that I was part of that veto idea/concept.

Fuck it, i'm posting the convo just to be clear:
[07/25/10 16:00:08 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : well.. when I've talked to shep, I'll confirm.
[07/25/10 16:01:30 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : ugghh.. that might cost us this deal.
[07/25/10 16:02:16 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : 1st i'm guessing will be NJD or LAK... given Mike he'll make it the worst in his opinion.
[07/25/10 16:02:33 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : both project 24-30.
[07/25/10 16:04:28 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : we can post it now if I have the right to veto it once I've spoken with Shep
[07/25/10 16:04:56 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : lol, that doesn't really make sense I don't think.
[07/25/10 16:05:45 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : post it now if everyone is so impatient with the understand that I may cancel it tomorrow if shep steps his game up
[07/25/10 16:06:23 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : na trades don't work that way, once confirmed they're done. for all my experience in the league at least.
[07/25/10 16:15:57 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : I dunno tbh.. we just worked this out
[07/25/10 16:16:44 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : shall we post as a three way? ** Mike said no ;)
[07/25/10 16:16:48 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : sure
[07/25/10 16:17:05 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : again, as long as everyone understands that it may be cancelled
[07/25/10 16:17:42 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : i dunno if i'm cool with ti dude. like what does he has to add to win?
[07/25/10 16:18:53 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : BTW, if any of you guys want to send me salary dump, i'm cool with that
[07/25/10 16:19:11 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : i have kick ass salaries.
[07/25/10 16:19:19 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : hat does he has to add to win?

[07/25/10 16:20:01 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : first wins, morin and cormier come out to about even, ross is over thomas, rutkowski does this in for you
[07/25/10 16:20:55 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : so he'd need to upgrade his 2nd to a 1st ?
[07/25/10 16:21:05 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : he cant do that, he doesn't have one
[07/25/10 16:21:14 ] Nick: domino's are falling. : aight, sure lets post
[07/25/10 16:21:20 ] Philidelphia -> Lee : and the first in 2012 doesnt cut it

I agree I was told that you could veto.

Don't give the rap to Lee. This is ALL on me.

I could have easily said no and talked directly to Nick.

I didn't break any rule, so I'm going to try and improve my team. I expected Nick to be pissed because he got his deal nixed, not an entire league backlash.

Frankly, I do very much enjoy talking hockey with a lot of you guys, and I'd rather step down as the St. Louis Blues GM than be a black sheep in the league.

I don't think anyone is calling for you to step down. People are upset right now, and it'll all blow over likely in a couple days. IMO it goes back more to the fact new GMS shouldn't be able to post deals for exactly this reason (till you shop around enough, till you understand how the league works etc.)

No Shep don't think like that...You are just an innocent bystander in another messy situation that could have been averted if a few simple things were followed. No one should fault you for improving your team and if they are calling you out they got there own issues to deal with. Don't take anything personal and this will all blow over. It seems to get this way in the off season a lot. There are a lot of anxious hockey nuts in here just waiting to explode. Its good but can be bad sometimes..lol

As I said in my post Shep I wasn't blaming you so I hope you didn't take it as me bashing you and if it did I apologize I more or less said yes you were away so it was out of your control, my biggest problem is that as soon as the mob came out it seems like that is when the deal went away not because u offered u did what u had to do.

The deal didn't go away at all. Nick and I worked this out at around 5 PM my time, Went to see Inception with some friends at 7. Shep came on at around 8, I was still out. Came on MSN around 11 PM to see if he was on, and he was, we talked for about an hour and worked out the rest of the details . Posted at 12:06 AM my time. Passed out in bed at 12:07 AM. Nothing anyone said had any influence on me deciding to take Sheps deal. Shep added what he needed to to make me take his deal.

What I meant was, I have a lot of guys here I love to talk hockey with, and I'd rather not have this between us. So I was thinking of the easiest way.
