Ducks have done better with him in net and he's played better than Hiller this season. Until he proves otherwise, yes I will believe he gives them a better chance to win.

That's fine, but it doesn't mean that Fasth is the better goaltender going forward, in fact the odds are heavily against that. Ergo why I would start Jonas Hiller, that, and I think the Ducks stand to lose more by starting Viktor Fasth.

Consider the following, the Ducks start Viktor Fasth and he regresses to an average to below average starting goaltender. In the process, the Ducks alienate Jonas Hiller, and ruin his confidence, they are now left with zero viable starting goaltenders, or one pissed off starter. The opposite is of course possible, but there is far less risk with Jonas Hiller, history suggests that Jonas Hiller will regress towards the mean (.917%, 2.55 GAA) because he has produced those numbers in the NHL over a statistically significant sample size.

Boudreau can say Hiller is the starter. That's fine. It doesn't change the fact that Fasth has been the superior goaltender this season.

I understand all of that, but there is no way to accurately forecast when hot streaks will begin and end, they are random outliers. Jonas Hiller could just as easily go on a hot streak tomorrow, and vice versa for Viktor Fasth.

The hockey gods won't allow it. I've been fucking destroyed by injuries and suspensions all season, any time it looks like someone is close to returning, someone else takes their place. It's not even fair at this point, anything that can go wrong has gone wrong (Clowe, Lupul, Green, Malone, Morris, Carkner, Shelley, and Brent) ...

Brunner was awesome yesterday...he's been a nice find for the Wings. Wings go from out of the top 8 entering the weekend to being a point out of 4th...scored 12 goals on Rinne and Luongo in the process.

And Mike, Franzen is expected to be back on Wednesday...
