Kareem is right, baseball is all about the numbers, and to answers Shoalzie's question we'd like to run it just the bbkl. So we'd need a tech guy to get a site up and running. Ideally using this site would be great, thats why trying to transfer all 30 guys over would be beneficial.

As for Shiv, you'd be great in a ball league, you're the guy who literally builds his team on stats. Baseball is a fantasy league built for you. As for picking teams, that would be up for debate, i'm assuming we'd all want the jays so tossing names in a hat might be the best option? or creating a sign up list for teams like we did with this league.

I'm open to lots of options.

Merry Christmas by the way!

They did prior to trading James Shields, that distinction now goes to the Tigers (Verlander, Sanchez, Scherzer, Fister and Porcello) and Reds (Cueto, Latos, Bailey, Chapman and Arroyo), IMO.

Last years Ace is this years depth pitcher in the Rotation.

If Dickey can be as effective as last year, the jays will allow the least amount of runs scored in the AL.

so have you changed your mind yet shiv? :)

If Morrow stays healthy for 200 IP, Johnson and Romero revert to pre 2011 form, and Dickey repeats last season it could be the best rotation in baseball. However, that is alot of if's.

What about the Nationals rotation? Strausburg, Gonzalez, Zimmerman, Haren, and Detwiller (?) seem to be up there for me.

I always forgot to mention the Nationals rotation. They are certainly up there with the Tigers and Reds.

Merry Christmas!
Well my knowledge in baseball is as much as the rules of the game goes.. so I only know the names of the jays (not even prospects!) and don't know much about everything else so I'd suck at it. That being said, my hockey knowledge was just as bad when I started BBKL so I think I will do just fine.
Something to keep in mind that i think of:
1) if it's the same GMs as the BBKL, we must make sure that there's no conflict of interest in trades made in both leagues (say making a trade with the same GMs in both leagues, One gets more benefit from the baseball league and the other in the hockey league.)
2) what rosters are you using? beginning of the off-season? end of off-season? beginning of last season? we need a cut-off time
3) which team belongs to whom? i think this can be sort out

Im in in any case. Just that I need some time to study the prospects and players. Kareem will help me? haha

If we do a BBKL-like league, I'd probably be more interested in that because of the idea of getting in at the beginning so I'm not into taking over another team. Another keeper league isn't appealing because I'm in leagues like that. I'd want to do a super deep league like what the BBKL is to hockey.

How would salaries play into this or are we dealing strictly with every player as their own asset?

One thing we'd need to figure out is how the cap would work in a baseball league as well, as baseball has a soft cap and luxury tax, we could simply institute a hard cap but that may create problems early on for high spending teams like the Dodgers and Yankees.

Maybe we can get a a group of guys together (like the CC) and discuss some rules, first we need to figure out how to pick teams. I'm still a fan of taking a team closest to your NHL city, for example i'd be the LA Angels, mike would be the Jays, etc....

We could also create a sign up sheet and we could do a draw for the jays? and then GM's could pick any other team of their choice (after the blue jay draw was finished).

Lots to be discussed and figured out over the next month or so.
