A Proposition for Authenticity.
Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
Both Billy and I like the St. Louis/Ottawa swap.
Remember, this is to get Ottawa back in the league, not balance divisions. I think our teams are quite similar in strength, so it doesn't disrupt what we have going right now.

Yup thats all cool with me, don't know why anyone would complain about this swap.

and to think i wanted the Sens when i entered the league..
not saying i'd like to take Billy's spot though, now would be too late for me to like it anyway.

NYR-->MIN
That's what I would push for personally.

(or EDM in place of MIN)
But I don't mean to be difficult and will go with the majority.

I hate with every ounce of my body to say this but I think this is the best I have heard yet
I think divisional competetiveness is more important that east/west. this to me makes alot of sence and would pit facey and I up against each other in the final week of the season, fun way to end the season

I will go with the majority as well, but I think most would agree the SE needs more competition than any other division, it's myself and chris, thats it...

Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
I also don't think it will do much switching 1 or 2 teams, power should be balanced out (but not evenly) by the time it goes (as we now have 30 GMs who would manage their team nicely i hope) switching 1 or 2 team doesn't help. Maybe for this year, but are we going to switch teams every year?
However, if the CC thinks that with me swapping with Philly is good for the long run, I will not have any objections if it's really for the good of the league. But Minny is one of my fav team now apart from the leafs (after I joined the league), and flyers being the complete opposite (only exception is when they face the fucking hawks), and the fans in Minny has signed me to be the GM for the next few years with a no-movement clause.... so.............. Can i select 5 teams that i am willing to move?

1 or 2 teams will be major steps in the right direction. & remember this is our first year with a schedule that takes into consideration divisions and conference.hong57 wroteCOLONI also don't think it will do much switching 1 or 2 teams, power should be balanced out (but not evenly) by the time it goes (as we now have 30 GMs who would manage their team nicely i hope) switching 1 or 2 team doesn't help.
As GM's get better and the league stabilizes things will change slower, so starting at a closer to level playing field is important IMO.hong57 wroteCOLONMaybe for this year, but are we going to switch teams every year?
It adds some balance, IMO. But this is voluntary Honger.hong57 wroteCOLON However, if the CC thinks that with me swapping with Philly is good for the long run, I will not have any objections if it's really for the good of the league.
However if you learned to like the Wild don't you think you'd learn to like your same players, even when they are dressed in the ORANGE. Your a developing team that won't be a bottom feeder for THAT much longer, however some strength/competition is needed in the WEST, and the Atlantic needs to be toned down.
Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
I here lots of agreement that the SE needs another reasonable team in it.
WSH
--------gap
FLA
-------HUGE gap
CAR
ALT
TBL
IMO we need another medium team in there, cause WSH really is a power.
But IMO, (just MO) the bigger issue is the bottom of the west, there are 7 junk teams, meaning the #8 in the west team is a free playoff spot, adding 1 or 2 reasonable teams there, to at least make it something of a meaningful battle to get in the playoffs is required (once again IMO).
PHX
DET
DAL
MIN
NSH
CBJ
EDM
-------> compared to the obvious bottom teams in the east:
NYI
TBL
ALT
-----
Mike is in full rebuilt... but still has a full roster
Milbury is doing his thing to car, but he's not taking them down that far yet
Topher is all over the place with BUF, but once again... better then any of those....
& TBH nighthawks is doing positive things with NYI, so they're on the way up.
Given the importance of conference in playoff spots and playoff match-ups, I really believe STARTING with slightly more balanced conferences is smart, and they will become more even over time, but right now they are MILES apart.
/end rant (LOL)

Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
DAL is on their way up
NSH has a very capable GM, they'll improve
PHX improved big time, legit playoff team
COL improved (they were under 500 last year)
Bergey is VAN now
the West is fine.. I understand you want to go play in the same division as your buddies but we have bigger issues to worry about. Now, if you want to literally change teams with Hong or Arian, feel free.. I feel the SE is where we need the balancing.

Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
my constant argument on that is that, to start with a level playing field there should have first been a fantasy draft of some kind. its wayyy too late for that and the way we started lead to rebuilding teams (aka bottom feeders) which is fun in its own right. However, since that didnt happen I dont see why we should try to make the league equal now. We started with huge transparities with teams and the argument there was these teams will rebuild and even out the playing field eventually, which is fair I guess. Also the Atlantic is incredibly strong in real life, the southeast is weak in real life, so our situation isnt entirely unrealistic. I also believe that with good GMing the balance will shift from east to west then east again and so on and so forth. If you disagree with that and say that the haves will always be the haves then we really should have started on a level playing field because then it was hopeless from the start.
I have been discussing this with facey all day I am strongly against it but I will go with the majority decision. The best (small) option that has been suggested is kareems. I feel that does alot for evening out the playing field without making a farce of the league. By all means faceys suggestion isnt terrible at all but with kareems the west gets better. maybe we dont gain as great of a team with his, but we have two teams in calg and nyr or we have phi. IMO philly is the far superior team but if you want overal equality we then have 6 of the bottoms teams to 4 thats automatically better, than the other option which left us at the same point of 7-3.
I am happy this opened up to a full league discusion because I think everyone should get a say. By all means if anyone has suggestions say them

Re: A Proposition for Authenticity.
i dont think it makes sense for Nick to switch with Arian or Hong at ALL. what incentive do either of them have to switch with nick to come to the east? the deal is all benefit for nick and more time in the basement for arian/hong. furthermore arian just told me he has a condition on his 1st EDM 2012 that he traded to Toronto. If he makes the playoffs next year, he keeps his 1st in 2012. a clause like that basically means its suicide for him to come over here.
I think the best solution is this:
Hartford ---> St. Louis
St. Louis ----> Ottawa
TBL ----> Philly
Philly ---->TBL
That is it. No need to change conferences for any other teams. everything will balance itself out.

lets see... you don't have a sister to offer in trade, money is so impersonal, I guess we'll have to go with a weekend adventure, hell... maybe financing the next Vegas trip?
edit: flight & hotel, not gambling, perhaps the split any winnings.
