NFL - Fantasy/Talk
Re: NFL - Fantasy/Talk
Yea I grabbed New England. Especially since they are the local broadcast team and i will be guaranteed to see it. I also grabbed Starks on the chance that he gets Bensons spot over Green.
Re: NFL - Fantasy/Talk
NE is a good choice. Seattle offense is junk.
Green is going to be the starter. He has more big-play potential and is a more explosive runner. Starks has the experience but the talent and unknown of Alex Green makes him a very interesting player.
Also, if you need a couple weeks of a RB, grab Vick Ballard of Indianapolis. Donald Brown is out for a couple weeks, so Ballard will see an increase in work. He's not a superstar (personally, I like him over Starks for the 3 weeks, but it's only short-term), but he will grind some yards and maybe grab a TD in the redzone if they try and pound it in.

Re: NFL - Fantasy/Talk
Well i got some RB options but i am clueless who to to start this week.
WR(2): Julio Jones, Andre Johnson, Malcolm Flloyd, Brandon Gibson
RB(2): Stephen Jackson, Demarco Murray, Mikel LeShoure, Rashard Mendenhall, James Starks
Flex - WR/RB(1): leftover from above?
Personally I am thinking Julio and Flloyd with Demarco and Mendenhall and using Jackson as Flex. That means that i am benching Johnson which is tough as he will have abreakout week to make up for his shit the last two...tough call...So you think i should dump Starks for Ballard eh?

Re: NFL - Fantasy/Talk
Start-
WR: J. Jones and A. Johnson (I live and die by ASYS [always start your studs] so I couldn't bench Johnson).
RB is a bit tougher. I'd go with Mendenhall for sure. Titans suck ass and Pittsburgh could get up early and run the game out. The rest is a bit more difficult based on very tough matchups. Based on ASYS, probably Murray vs. the overrated Ravens rushing defense.
Rashard Mendenhall @ TEN - Tennessee ranks 28th in rushing yards allowed per game. Easy decision here.
Stephen Jackson @ MIA - Miami ranks 1st in rushing yards allowed per game.
Demarco Murray @ BAL - Baltimore ranks 20th in rushing yards allowed per game.
Mikel LeShoure @ PHI - Philadelphia ranks 12th in rushing yards allowed per game.
James Starks @ HOU - Houston ranks 9th in rushing yards allowed per game and will be splitting carries with Green.
Vick Ballard @ NYJ - NY Jets rank 31st in rushing yards allowed per game.
Ballards 2 weeks folloing this week are vs. CLE (26th in rushing yards allowed per game) and @ TEN which ranks 28th in rushing yards per game as previously mentioned.
So Ballard isn't a super-stud, and is only a 3 week filler most likely. But he has a great rushing schedule ahead of him.
So yes, personally I'd dump Starks for Ballard. There are pros and cons to both. Starks could be splitting carries ALL season on a pass-happy offense. Or with Ballard he should get all the carries, albeit on a pass-happy offense and only for 2-3 weeks. Not to mention it's a GREAT running schedule over the next 3 weeks.
Then your flex option comes down to Floyd vs. Ballard (if you pick him up). The Monday nighter is going to be a shootout IMO and Floyd could have a big game. Or Meachem/Mathews/Gates could have a big game and Floyd is left with not much. There are lots of targets in San Diego for Rivers to spread the ball around. So who knows what he does.
If it was my team I'd roll with this:
WR: Jones, Johnson
RB: Mendenhall, Murray
Flex: Ballard (this is the homerun pick)
Ballard is the Boom/Bust pick, Floyd is the safer pick.
I'm also a Colts fan, so the Ballard pick is bias, but I've also seen him and he's been OK at best. But he's the type of player that could really breakout given the opportunity.
Hope that long ramble helps!

Post this and you'll win; however if these are your best options you'll probably finish bottom 4 in your league!
Re: NFL - Fantasy/Talk
Come on Steve, shes a 12 man league and i got a pretty damn good team. You are missing Brees and Gronkowski. If you think that is a bottom 4 team in a 12 man league I think i'll be taking Sheps advice over yours, lol. I definitely have some under performing studs that have let me down. (Johnson, Gronk, Jackson) with all that said it is H2H and i know anything can happen in H2H so I am pessimistically optimistic.Fair Deals Steve wroteCOLONAll your thinking is now donemr. bruin wroteCOLON

It was his Achilles and he definitely didn't play again after. But that was likely just precautionary.mr. bruin wroteCOLONfucking joke. that is the story of my season right there. The Pittsburgh Steelers' injury-plagued season didn't get any better Thursday night.
Running back Rashard Mendenhall was the latest Steeler to be hurt, leaving the 26-23 loss to the Tennessee Titans with an Achilles injury in the third quarter. He didn't return.
Mendenhall's backup, Isaac Redman, also hurt his ankle. Baron Batch scored a 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter after Mendenhall left, and Chris Rainey also was worked into the rotation.
Mendenhall returned from his torn anterior cruciate ligament to play very well last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he had just six carries for 6 yards against the Titans.
Pittsburgh also lost center Maurkice Pouncey to a leg injury and offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert to an ankle injury.
