Re: BBKL Prospect Game
Hartnell? na na - Jensen is a more polished game then that - killer release on his shot as well, way less effective crash and bang/ugly goals in large #.
Not as quick, but with more playmaking (ahahah this is a low bar) I see Jensen like Stalberg.
In a similar line, Jurco reminds me of Hossa, but no where near on any of the levels, which sets his realistic comparison as a slower Stalberg.
How about Curtis Lazar ?

Curtis Lazar I wanna say Mike Fisher but a bit more skill to his game.Nick wroteCOLONHartnell? na na - Jensen is a more polished game then that - killer release on his shot as well, way less effective crash and bang/ugly goals in large #.

and I completely disagree with Dave Bolland-Mark McNeill comparison.
Id say McNeill could end up a Mike Richards from this past season.

McNeil is not at all like Bolland, I'd have to agree - but I don't think he's Richards either - Ladd is a better comparison IMO.
Mike Fisher is the exact player I seen when watching Curtis Lazar. That's an extremely valuable piece IMO, but agree again with you Billy, there *might* be more skill in Lazar.

Ohhh Brandon Saad is a tough one.

I just did a little google'ing on McNeill. Scouts compare him to RJ Umberger or Dubinsky.bills09 wroteCOLONCurtis Lazar I wanna say Mike Fisher but a bit more skill to his game.Nick wroteCOLONHartnell? na na - Jensen is a more polished game then that - killer release on his shot as well, way less effective crash and bang/ugly goals in large #.

Re: BBKL Prospect Game
Hartnell's game is much more polished than Stalberg's. I agree that Hartnell is probably the wrong comparison, but so is Stalberg. He's a tricky one to do. I said Hartnell just because Hartnell's skill set has really polished up, but yeah he definitely doesn't have the crash and bang aspects of Hartnell's game. I know Hartnell is more recognized for his grinding than anything, so my comparison is obviously at fault there, but I think their skill sets are similar as they both have fairly good puck control/hands and shots, plus those evident 2-way aspects. Stalberg is a lot more of an electric player, and I think Jensen plays with a lot more composure.Nick wroteCOLONHartnell? na na - Jensen is a more polished game then that - killer release on his shot as well, way less effective crash and bang/ugly goals in large #.

Also I think Jurco has a much higher skill level than Stalberg. Stalberg does have fairly good hands, but Jurco definitely has more patience with the puck, better hand eye, a higher end skill, and more vision. ithink that Hossa is quite a bit more explosive than Jurco, but skill wise Jurco draws some parallels. I want to say Jurco is like a Nikolai Zherdev stuck in a good system, but I know that Zherdev is more of a dangler while Jurco is bigger and plays more of a "North American" game.
I liken Lazar to a Shane Doan in the middle of the ice.
