It was never given credit because it was never very good. Maybe by the West's past standards, but overall it was a very average group. This season however, Nashville has a legitimate shot to crack a more difficult top 8.
Other than Brad Richards, his team is the exact same.
LMAO

He just has no periphs

maybe but I think Kyle needs to make a few trades before he cracks the top 8. just my opinion anyways.

honestly, I think im there this season. If not, my team has enough young guns (Taylor Hall, PK Subban, Cam Atkinson, Tarasenko, Burmistrov, David Savard, Nino, Matt Martin, Varlamov, sobotka, abdelkader) that they should improve and get me into the playoffs the next season for sure. Keep in mind that my "vets" are all young too lol. Vanek and Kovy both under 29, Ehrhoff is like 30, same with Konopka I think. Brad Stuart I think is my oldest every day player (I don't count Giguere cause he is a backup)

Nice to hear you think I am getting there though, thanks :).
If you think for a second that you're team is going to make it in at the expense of mine you're in for a rude awakening son! Even with a stacked NE I still expect to be a playoff team. Get ready for 9th spot again buddy! ;)

I like my team more than yours going into the future anyways ;).

I lack C's sure, but fuck, whatever, you guys can have FOW for a year or two :P. All my Centres at least hit all the periphs pretty well. Ill still beat some of the shitty FOW teams too, just not the top flight centre squads :(.

I'll be making a run at the spot at the very least :P. Should be fun.

I don't know why I was under the impression that his team was more improved... Serves me right for not actually looking at his team

Mik's team is always unrated because he is a just douche bag to deal with in trades and thus makes enemies. it is actually pretty simple lol.

I know why people underrate his team. That doesn't mean it's not underrated though. He's got Malkin. Unless Anton does the mid-season "rebuilding into contender" thing, Nashville will easily win our division.

I agree with that. Still not a top team though imo. A lock for the playoffs though.

I'm sure it's great, but just get a couple people to check it over, unless you already did and raped it like a black man rapes a white woman first try.

Boom.

Re: 2012 Schedule

Post by Nick »

didn't arrange the schedule with the team names as they currently stand - very long process to randomize the names AFTER making the schedule work for the same setup we used last year.

Each division opponent twice = 8 games
Everyone else in you conference = 10 games
filling the gap with out of conference games = 3

Last year we started with the 5 weeks of divisional games, this year we end with it. Great for the race.

I don't expect to have it perfect on first pass - not that this is exactly the first pass - but haven't seen an issue yet.

Berg helped me a TON with this, including the randomizing of team names (but keeping division lined up, conference looks after itself) and then finding the out of conference games that work. I kept to a strict sequencing. Top/Bottom, if they already played, top/one up next, repeat. That left 3 weeks that the open teams had already played each out. with the out of conference games being the same opponent. At this point i pulled the week out of the schedule, asked one of cliff or shook to pick a random number (they were playing NHL12 w/o looking at screen), counted that out and that's the random fix. Berg observed the process and helped Drunk Nick keep count and the names in order.

It all is very easy for the first 5 weeks, and slowly gets harder, until the final few where everything is very tight.

Hm..some mathematical difficulties are ones I've expressed in previous years.

Dealing with non-even numbers in conference and divisions. Meaning you can have either 1 (2) out of conference matchup or 3 (6) - a pain in the ass for organized sequencing.

There were no decisions made based on a teams name, and then it was double blinded with a find/replace sequence for the entire league, based on a numerical matchup.

Just checked it for Nashville.

The only thing i noticed is i currently have 4 extra-conference matchups, and only 4 games vs NorthWest Division teams. But i think that's not considered wrong (i see some other teams with 4 extraconference games).
