There is no one way to run a team or conduct business here but I think all anyone wants to see is that you try and you have fun. Anyone that burns themselves out is usually someone trying way too hard or is just obsessed to an unhealthy level. We all have to walk the line of this being just a fun hobby and becoming a chore.

Re: Yea, I'm done...
didn't know we had a female gm lol
Re: Yea, I'm done...
I would probably have quit but instead I just stopped trying so hard to make deals, just lay back and see how your team does and ignore bad offers and try to seize opportunity, this is a very hockey knowledgable league that is fun to be apart of.

Chris is/was Vancouver GM...
Re: Yea, I'm done...
I won't venture to know all the workings of why some people quit, but some of it seems like a hot head decision, some of it is life based, some of it was due to lack of fit, etc. A few of our members are still maturing, we all have families and lives outside the league, and to some anything not easy/ideal/the right answer at the right time is too much, it makes the bbkl the tipping point on what they can handle.Chris wroteCOLON So explain why people have been quitting, Mash has no interest in getting the league back up quickly, and so on and so forth? You're missing the forest for the trees here. A lot of people are burnt out from the effort it takes to try and get anything done here.
I haven't heard that Mash lost interest - but figure there is nothing wrong with him taking any time away as he requires...that's fine. Matt has the complete list above and is a long tenured member, if he needs a summer with minimal activity that's NBD.
So, trading is tough in the bbkl, and that's a bad thing? That shows a level of care, commitment and at least the good-sense to not buy into the logic every vendor is offering out. Not everyone shares your logic? OMG stop the bus.Chris wroteCOLON A lot of people are burnt out from the effort it takes to try and get anything done here.
I get a weekly offer from a GM who has the letters P.E.H.S in his name, every offer is good, many would take the deal and I appreciate him for making it; but that doesn't mean it's a deal I should/will do. You say it's hard to get any trades accomplished, but in my experience a short conversation will tell you what it would take, at this time, to land PlayerX - at which point you make a call if that price is something you're willing to pay. Honestly the 'toughest' deals to make are often with GMs who you share many player evaluations with - unless needs line up. Doesn't mean good relationships and conversations cannot exist - but that's up to you and whichever GM you have for a partner in the conversation.
Being mad at a 'no', or 100% expecting a yes is simply asinine -If you'd do the deal form your side, maybe they'd also prefer to be your side. Any disagreement there is how a deal can and does happen. Hell sometimes I know I'd like a deal to happen so bad I apologize with the offer!
Re: Yea, I'm done...
Kareem not in the East? Yes, please.
