agreed end of an era. very few players have as much impact on and off the ice as lidstrom did. Best dman I've ever watched and none come close. Truely the epitome of a hall of famer, career and character wise. sad to see him go, but happy that he left at such a high level, not pulling an owen nolan and clinging for life.

Top D man of an era, one of the best all time no doubt. Man made the game look so effortless, every player they interview says the same thing - he made it look easy, and you were often caught just watching him in awe. Classy classy individual. Rumors are Holmstrom and Alfie may retire too. I think the wings will get Suter now.
