Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread
Ah true Lee, I did claim Zenon is the best player on the Sens, and I guess if you want to select players from Ottawa's bottom six and claim they aren't as talented as the best players on other teams that's one way of arguing, but I believe that's what you'd call a logical fallacy (a red herring more specifically). See I'd love to poke fun at the Leafs but unfortunately they can't seem to make it to the show so its mostly just sad. As far as making fun of how long its been since the Sens have won, have you ever even seen the Leafs play in a final? No? I didn't think so. There is however a big difference between the Leafs and Sens, this being that the Sens had to fold due to the depression, and have only been back for a relatively short period of time.....the Leafs however, a long-standing tradition of being losers.Kezia wroteCOLONSensfanjosh wroteCOLONBeing a top offensive player, and being the best player in the league are fairly different things, i.e. see the difference between a Crosby, and a SeminShep wroteCOLON....Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONTypical leaf fans, wishing ill upon others because their own team is unable to achieve anything on the ice. Whether the Leafs were in the playoffs or not, I'd be cheering against my least favourite team in the NHL, the Senators.
And Kessel was a top offensive player in the league this year, so not quite sure about that jab at Leafs fans. Would have made more sense to chirp Phaneuf.
Again, you fail to understand that winning one playoff series doesn't equal winning a cup, so sure you knock the Sens out of round one to lose in round two, great job Leafs only thing you managed was to not win anything in hockey, but also take away from about a month of golfing action.bahahahahahah some one is a little butt hurt.
you guys haven't even beaten us in a playoff series.
settle down champ lol.
I'm not butt hurt at all btw, the Sens played well this year and I liked watching them as a team, lots of potential for growth. I don't like Leaf fans coming out of the woodwork to rub in my face that they lost when the Leafs themselves have very little to cheer about aside from Brian Burke taking them from the basement to a slightly above basement team with a single superstar, an overpaid over-rated captain on defense, and a bunch of nobodies.
Translation : Bobby Butler, Colin Greening and Zenon Konopka are really fucking good and the Leafs would be lucky to have players of their talent level.
You lost. We poke fun at you. That's how the Leafs - Sens rivalry works. You'll get over it.

Spoiler alert too; every player from Toronto/ every Canadian hockey player does not want to play for the Leafs, and likely will not sign there the first time they become a UFA. You will manage to continue to land players such as Tim Connolly for bargain bin prices

A good old fashion sen and leaf shit storm lol
Don't worry guys, the next depression we go through we won't even be having this debate, ottawa will be moved to Kansas city and toronto still won't be in the playoffs!
Win-win or lose-lose... No matter how u look at it!

You're claiming that we think all of these things about Kessel et al and yet not a single person here has uttered a single word of what you wrote about them. I think you're referring to the retards at HF. There is actual video footage of the last time the Leafs won, so yes, I have seem them win a cup Nice cave drawings, though.

They're better than some of the has-beens on your roster for a number of years now! The fact is the Sens were supposed to be last in the league and took the top team in the East to 7 games. The "rebuilding" (I use that term loosely) Leafs were supposed to be a playoff team and despite being top inthe East at one point; still managed to somehow fuck it all up yet again and missed the playoffs. But you're all used to that by now right?Kezia wroteCOLONSensfanjosh wroteCOLONBeing a top offensive player, and being the best player in the league are fairly different things, i.e. see the difference between a Crosby, and a SeminShep wroteCOLON....Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONTypical leaf fans, wishing ill upon others because their own team is unable to achieve anything on the ice. Would like to see LAK, NSH, PHI & WSH
however I'm not confident in WSH and could see PHI having a major emotional let down after their series, and coming out flat against NJD.

Get a grip on what? As far as you are concerned neither have the Leafs? What have they ever won since you have even been alive? Same boat here, except I've seen my team in the finals, seen my team win a presidents trophy, seen my team make the playoffs in the past six seasons. The Leafs have been trashy just about forever, their rebuild has gotten them basically no where. Sure you can point back to the glory years of the 50's and 60's, but if that's your only argument then I think pointing back to the original Sens franchise is just as fair.
I'm not the one taking this to heart, Chuck and I are having a good laugh at the responses the Leaf fans are putting up in here. No one expected the Sens to make the playoffs much less take the Eastern champs to 7 games, the Leaf's were pegged in for a playoff spot this year, and managed to disappoint.

Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread
40 years and 100 years... I can see how close they are.
Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread
The fuck does Chuck have to laugh about? His team was suppose to finish far above ours in the standings and look where they are drafting. 3rd overall lol (bastards!!!)
As for our rebuild, it;s obviously not gone that well, but you can blame burke for thinking he was actually going to be able to put together a quick 'retool' which would have us back in the playoffs.

Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread
Man, the Sens have been around since what 1992? They folded in 1934, so okay between 1900 and 1934 they won 11 cups, so 11 in 34 years. Then they rejoin the league in 1992, and continue to exist today in 2012 so another 20 years so 11 cups in 54 years of existence vs the Leafs being founded in 1917 (95 years) and having won 13 cups. I won't figure out the cups per year, but its pretty clear who it favors. The Sens have not won a cup in 20 years sure, but the Leafs haven't won in forever either so not a legitimate argument
Re: 2012 NHL Playoffs Thread
You were barely a drip out of your pappys' sack when the Sens came back and they've accomplished nothing in that timeframe. So I'm glad you're proud of that but it means jack shit. Granted that our pictures exist in black and white, Neither you, myself nor Chuck have anything to brag about in our teams history for the last 20 years.Sensfanjosh wroteCOLONGet a grip on what?
