I think this is an NHL type of deal personally.

Future top pairing dmen, getting a uniform change. Added a bottom pairing 25 year old and a prospect who took a step back.

But honestly - I need Gub to take next step, or Ryan to find his NHL game for this trade to be worthwhile. However Steve talked a good talk, we went through entire rosters & way off topic, before finding a middle ground that really feels like a hockey deal to me.

gosh, anyone talking a trade with me needs to beaware that we may talk women, politics, life, playoffs, and draft predictions at any point during negiotations.

That's where we found the deal though Steve - common talking points that worked back into the deal!

At one point we had RoR & Schenn in the deal, other prospects, firsts, first borns and NN.

Willingness to explore the angles is how deals between similar minded GMs get done.
