Probably a homer deal for me. Impressed with Schroeder's development this year and think he has a nice NHL future.

That being said abdelkader hits periphs well and the DET coaching staff really likes him, hard guy to knock off the puck.

Schroeder is burried in the system and doesnt have periph stat line. BBKL wise, this is a win for Ennzie.

Hard to say what Abdelkader's role will be going forward...he's probably looking at being a winger on one of the top lines next year. He's taken to a Franzen/Holmstrom-like role.
