I honestly don't know what Phion is doing. I don't even think Phion knows.

He said he wants the worst team in BBKL and he's working hard to do it!

Congratulations. You have taken a perrenial #7-8 playoff team to virtually no assets and "tanking" status equivalent to DAL/PHI before Lee and Peter came along. How you pulled that off deserves some sort of an award.

He doesn't have no assets, he does have 7 1sts this year and 5 the next. Not to mention Reilly, Morrow, Rakell, Baertchi, Bennett, etc...He plays his cards right he can turn this team around in no time...

My assets are all in prospects and picks.

If the boom then my team will be solid, if they bust then in fucked.

But I'd rather risk that then come 8th/9th every year and be in a Calgary Flames limbo (real Calgary Flames)

I agree he has lots of assets. But I think he's slightly disillusioned as to the frequency in which first rounders/prospects come even close to their projected ceiling/comparison. We'll see, perhaps is he picking those he truly believes in, and not just any prospect name.

I actually don't mind this trade for him. Although it makes Billy better h2h.

Phion's rebuild actually makes VanChris' rebuild look good - this team is in trouble.

So what you are saying is this deal is so bad, Phion loses, Chuck loses and Billy wins?

I don't get how you can even say that without knowing how my prospects develop...

It may end up bad, but it's wayyyyy too early to tell

Baertschi, Morrow, Gibson, Rielly, Gallagher, Rakell, Bennett, etc. + 7 1sts this year, and 5 the next.

And I am confident that Reimer will be the goalie I build around.

Phion, DO IT !!! you have some beast pieces and we need you to believe it in more than anybody else. Haters will hate - but run your own team :) The only way to return value is to see the build through, a change 1/3 of the way will surely result in the disaster Shiv is calling for.

And please continue to be active not only in trade talks, but also in general discussions + smack talk.

Haha thanks, and ya I will.

I'm hesitant to even trade my prospects in a swap for another prospect. No way will I give up on the rebuild lol

What Phion manages to pull out of this 2013 draft will be a huge factor in how his rebuild goes imo. Good scouting and patience is the key to a successful rebuild. I say that as a rebuilding squad myself.
