I really like this for Kareem, Ward is such a stable goalie, and the team is improving, landing a 1st + better goalie on a better team...Not that anything is wrong with hiller, good goalie.

Pretty much. I'm fine with the loss though. I made a mistake because what I thought about waivers was one thing but it ended up being another. Kareem tried a bunch of different options to help me with the cap situation and doing this trade helped me save two assets.

Smart of him to look at my situation as an opportunity to create a win for his team by helping me.

Should have just waived Steve Mason. He'll be in Europe after this season anyways.

Steve Mason has a good chance to play 24 games this year. No way was I waiving him. He alone will land me a good NHLer in the coming months.

It's possible Mason never finds his step. But people forget that he is still only 24...So many of the stud goalies around didn't get there till they were 26/27. At 24 I'll give him 2-3 more years to find his game np. And IMO he will find it much sooner than that.
