Nice trade Steve, I think Crabb is clearly a few steps ahead.

Meh trade. Crabb is a pretty solid 4th liner if given the chance, and camara is a potential 4th liner.

I like what Camara offers as a future h2h piece. Offensive upside is questionable but he is sure showing a lot more this season (40 pts in 30 ohl games) but because of his game, I'm quite confident he can at least make it to the nhl as a goon hit everyone get a lot of pim sort of player. He was drafted in the third round as a fighter before even showing any sort of offensive game, so I think theres a lot of reason to be optimistic of his chances of being an NHLer, and with the sort of effort level he brings night in and night out I can see him progressing steadily throughout his career. Impressive enough he even made team canada with the depth of players who tried out; not really concerned about his limited role. Worst case scenario I traded a current fourth liner for a future goon who still sees steady ice, best case a good third line winger with unreal hits/pim and other periphs.. imo.

Not sure why you would make this trade Steve... Camara is one of the most feared open ice hitters in the OHL, has developing hands, and is already a quick and agile skater. He has definite third line potential in the NHL.

Camara was drafted as a checker, not a fighter, and worst case scenario he never makes the NHL.

I meant as the combination of checker/fighter, but he certainly is well known for his fighting skills. I'll admit I wasn't completely up to date with him on his draft year so I'm just kind of stating what i read. I feel pretty confident he'll make it to the nhl one way or another though hence my worst case scenario phrasing, but yes of course there is a chance he does not, as there is with most prospects.

Filppula - hurt (out a while now)
Ryan O'Reilly - Staying in Russia
Colby Armystrong - sucks at life, who knows how he does in Montreal

i needed the insurance. Plus Camara was a free asset from you in one of our past deals :)

Is RoR actually staying in Russia?

His contract states that if his current NHL team doesn't offer him a contract that is significant of his current KHL contract he wasn't allowed to leave the KHL (and this is in the 2nd year)

I'm pretty sure he said he was not leaving the KHL at all this year.

RoR said he's staying in Russia regardless for this season, but he can leave in the summer if he gets an offer significantly better than his current KHL one.

EDIT: Steve beat me.

Joey Crabb isn't insurance though, he's AHL fodder.

I did my research, looks like they're going to start him on the 3rd line. Plus, i wasn't looking for a stud, just some 4th liner who'll eat up some games and get a few shots or something.

Crabb is more then an AHLer, he briefly rocked it out there last year, but just completed a very good Bottom 6 season, and got himself a nice contract on a team that can use him properly. That's a nice grab at this price. IMO.
