If you run a 3 year comparison on the two players the stats are almost identical, from points to shtoi to hits....Suter blows DD out of the water in Blocked shots.

Suter is also 5 years older. So a three year stats comparison does very little in projecting future production. Odds are that Doughty will improve whereas Suter will decline or flatten out.

IMO he's the USA's version of Shea Weber

go look at his stats.
He doesn't go over 200 shtoi. In fact, before last year, it looks like he was more of a 150ish SHTOI player. Doesn't hit that much, doesn\t block a ton of shots compared to lots of other d out there, he also does not shoot the puck that much either.
His offensive numbers are decent but nothing spectacular. Especially considering he has been playing beside Weber for the last few seasons.

His offensive # are pretty sick IMO, something like 35/40/45 -> that's got a nice trend to it!
Under-rated IMO, but still not Doughty who just had an off year. Although Suter was #10 in points, and although has nothing in common with Weber aside from being on the same team as him, there are other Norris winning/deserving dmen he reminds me of.

There are other dmen who put up similar numbers but hold no where near as much value.
