Kesler has more: HITS, BS, SHTOI and FOW, and the gap in points isn't terribly wide either.

I'm surprised this trade hasn't generated more chatter, it's a pretty significant deal.

I think you got destroyed Kareem. Had i been here, would have said don't do it.

I would have done it regardless, Ryan Kesler has bettered Nicklas Backstrom in H2H three years running. Mark Jankowski and Anton Lander is a hefty price to pay for the upgrade, but make no mistake, it's a price I would pay seven days a week.

And from my POV Backstrom is a superior hockey player, without know injury, would never pay anything in addition to Nick for Ryan.

You will find that this is hard to prove with objective evidence.
Nick wroteCOLONwithout know injury
Nicklas Backstrom missed almost two months last season with a concussion, that is a known injury.

Hahha what sort of weak ass argument is that? Nicklas is not projected to miss any time this year as a result of a known injury, unlike the player you traded for.

With more than 30 extra GP Kessler barely had more points - and that's a somewhat conservative pace for the extremely skilled backstrom. He's a player I'd confidently count on to be a number 1 centre for some time.

Haha guess we got some conversation going on this big deal.

Maybe Kareem lucks out and the lockout lasts as long as Kesler was going to sit out to start the season...

Washington isn't going to be handcuffed offensively this upcoming season either.

Some food for thought.

Would you prefer if it I gave you my subjective POV with no statistical reinforcement whatsover?

As long as Ryan Kesler isn't injured in the playoffs it doesn't make a great deal of difference to me. Particularly in a lockout shortened season.

You failed to mention that Ryan Kesler significantly underperformed (offensively) due to well documented injuries. 50 points are not the norm for Ryan Kesler, 65-75 is the norm.

Despite these injuries, Kesler outperformed Nicklas Backstrom in: FOW, SHTOI, HITS, BS, SOG, G, and PIMS, and by a wide margin. Just like he has in each of the last three seasons.

No kidding.

Gosh, I hope not... Three more months without hockey is too much!

I honestly don't care whether or not Kesler misses two months, my only concern is that he is healthy and ready to go for the playoffs, every other week month means nothing.

I've got him in another league...it was annoying to wait for him to come back last year. I hope he's right when he comes back this time.

yea but he was never right. Wasn't the same kesler last year as he was the previous few seasons and I am talking about way more than points.

What is your opinion on the deal Shooker, I am really interested to hear it.
