When I first noticed that I didn't have my 1st rounder I tried hard to acquire it with Patches. That didn't work. So I then parlayed Patches + a bit into Richards.

Not only did I get my 1st (which will be top 5-8ish, but I also got a top prospect in Etem. He's a scoring machine, and I think he will settle in as a good scoring 2nd liner, maybe become more.

2013 is one of the best drafts in a long time.I'm happy with this trade

that's why the verb had a conditional.. but it depends on how much you tear down your team, and the way next draft it's shaping up it seems unlikely BUF won't get a very good player with that pick anyway.

On a side note, in the past days the mighty B.Richards was traded (basically) straight up for Pacioretty.

I'm sorry, but you're what... 17? 18? Just last year, before the season opened, everyone was talking about how the 2012 draft was going to be one of the best since 2003. You need a trade buddy. I have no idea who yours was. I might not be a GM any more, but I do care about the league's quality and nurturing incoming GMs. You just got raped.

2012 was rarely talked about as having elite top talent. 2013 does. The kid's getting drafted in '13 are my age. I know people who have played with them before. I know what to expect. Any of Jones, MacKinnon, Shinkaruk, Monohan, Duclair, Lazar, Barkov and I am happy.

Any one of those guys are potential studs for the next 15-20 years. Same thing with Etem, he's one of the best goal-scoring prospects.

trade buddy was in place for Phion, for the full scheduled period.

Unlike for some other previous newcomers in the past, who in a matter of a week or two were deprived of their best assets by trade-aggressive GMs (and i guess i don't belong to that category).

Phion just turned Pacioretty into:
a top pick in a great draft
a tremendous and almost ready prospect
a 2nd rounder in a great draft

How's that getting raped, i'm not sure.
In his position, i would trade Pacioretty for that stuff like he did.

And Mik, you voided the condition of that verb by mentioning the parameters necessary to justify the trade. You raped him and you know it.
