I have no idea how you convince some people to make the trades they make Shiv. I guess the more you spam people with trades the more likely they are to say yes? Cause fuck...Hong...what were you thinking?

Umm.. you guys are retarded.

This is an EASY win for hong. Unless Schenn plays #1PK in Philly, Orpik >> Schenn. Unless Hossa retires, Hossa >> Perron.

Yerp. Current production vs youth.

Right now he might win, but it's debateable.

Schenn >/= Orpik and is 9 years younger.

Hossa > perron yes, but perron is not done developing IMO and he is 9 years younger.

Hong also takes on far more injury risk all for minute gains in the present. Not the smartest asset management IMO.

I like it for Hong. Age is overrated.

IMO Schenn > Orpik and Hossa > Perron but I agree lol Hong did very well in this deal.

not in keeper leagues it's not. The older a person gets the harder it is to flip them and the more prone to injuries they become. Not to mention Hossa just had his bell wrung like a mother fucker in the playoffs. But i guess It's OK to trade for old injury prone players, but when you do it for young ones (who aren't even injury prone, just have had 2 freak injuries) it's a bad thing.

Stats say Orpik > Schenn. Until stats show me otherwise, I'll take BBKL stats.

Also, age is nothing and SO overrated. How is there far more injury risk for hong? Hossa was concussed, sure. Perron missed 90+ games from a concussion. Suddenly he's no risk? This is Hossa's first concussion.

yeah i thought for awhile.. but im in a win mode now... and as i always build from within (stepan, eberle, perron, zach smith, faulk, despres, toffoli, schwartz,...) my core is still very young and my farm keep on building.. this trade, however, is against my building philosophy but i can take the risk for this one

They are 32 and 33. Plenty of years left. Guys that were 32/33 when this league started are now 35/36. Think of the thousands of trades that have occurred in the past 3 years?

People trying to win are not concerned about age until they are 40+.

Perron is 9 years younger and is a nice player (30ish goal scorer) but I don't think he will ever come close to Hossa's h2h production. Point per game player with a a decent amount of SHTOI.

Before last year Hossa hadn't been healthy for a full season since 2006.. The guys always injured. The only thing Orpik has on Schenn right now is PK and if you go back a year before Schenn had over 200 mins of SHTOI, Ron wilson was just a fucking retard and wouldn't put him out there.

Perron has had that nasty concussion yes, but prior to that he was good for a full season.
