If Repik is signing overseas, that is not Steve's fault buddy. Always do your research on injuries and contracts. GMing 101. If you don't do the work required to protect your assets, then Steve deserved to get a 5th from you for Repik.

and ya, this has happened to all of us, i traded for 2 prospects last summer than ran overseas....happens to the best of us....but like i said, if this causes hard feelings over a 5th i dont know what to tell ya?

I know it sucks if you had no idea, but this wasn't a sneaky act by Steven at all (even if he knew). This was posted for all to see and was on multiple websites as well. Shitty to lose a pick for nothing but it isn't steves fault.

I woke up at like 10 on a Saturday morning a while ago and Neel was on msn, so I messaged him about Greiss. I hadnt checked any news etc because I'd just woken up. We made a deal and then I saw on NHL.com that Niemi had signed there, making the tandem him and Nitty.

I don't blame Neel for that deal. I blame myself lol.

The issue I have is not with me not researching sure I should have but was on my way out for work so I couldn't until later. I just have no interest in trading with someone who is obviously intending to essentially steal assets from me, everyone wants to win trades but getting something for nothing is a greasy move in my opinion.

Anything lower than a 3rd Round pick is completely useless. I'd rather have Repik in Europe than a 4th Round pick.

Essentially my thought process with Filatov... An early 2nd for a former 6th overall who needs some time to get his head on? Sure. Not like that 2nd has a great chance of making it any time soon.

this trade should be vetoed, losing a 5th round pick can ruin an entire franchise
