FDS would approve of this deal, that's for sure.

Jiri Hudler scored 50 pts this season, and he's still 28, prime age. Versteeg is only slightly better than Hudler and I like Howden as always so this made sense for me.

It seems as if whomever this FDS character is just struck again!

I don't know about Hudler and if he'll be back with the Wings. I have a funny feeling he gets overpaid by a desperate team in the open market and leaves. My preference would be that he doesn't return to the Wings.

I think Hudler will be a good player on a different team. He's a 50 point winger playing a 2nd/3rd line role in Det, he could very easily replace someone like Parise in NJ and play on their top line.

(assuming Parise leaves NJ)

Also - if by chance Hudler returns to the KHL i'll send Paul a winger (probably Gabriel Bourque)

clearly its hard to guage the outcome of this trade thus far. Both Hudler and Versteeg our with injuries/personal reasons and howden recalled!! what an interesting conundrum!!
