Now that I see what you got out of Antropov, I'm not so sure I like it Peter. Mind you, I didn't make out amazing with Antropov for 10th overall + Crombeen, but I think you should have waited.

Yeah, Crombeen is pretty much just gp to me so whatever, I basically just tried to reverse the trade I made before went 10-13 but picked up Kozun who's a dece prospect. After a lot of shopping around I learned that you actually made out quite well on the antropov deal. It is what it is my teams in a new direction now.

Should have cost more for that CGY 1st in 2013 IMO.

Agreed. Top 10 is a lock bordering on lottery.... I would have asked for double that lol.

To be fair to Peter, the ANA pick is 13th I believe. So... if he gets an extra development year out of the player he drafts for a top-ten pick (unlikely to be top-five, but top-ten is possible), then it's a pretty fair deal.

How do any of you guys know how good/bad josh is going to do next year? It's hockey anything could happen, I get certainty for 13th overall this year and know players I want in that area, 2013 who knows. Josh's team was completely injury smashed and I feel his lineup/goaltending has been really improved and that his team will probably not be nearly as bad as they were last year. But like I said, who are any of us to know how good he'll do next year? It's just speculation.

I know how good the rest of the West is by comparison.

Good insurance by Josh, IMO. I don't mean that as a dis to his GM abilities, but understanding the gap his current roster has to the other teams means, once again just MO, that he grabbed a mucher higher pick, in a superior draft, for a 1 year wait.

And to add to that, I got BUF 1st 2012 + Reilly Smith from Steve for CGY 1st 2013. Not saying that Peter didn't do okay here, he just could have done better with that pick.

Peter, don't let people bring you down. What they don't realize is that you bought a 2012 pick at a time when it should be reaching it's peak, which actually implies that you got a bargain. It could EASILY happen that at draft time you get PAID for that pick because of how hard it is to come by top 15 picks.

Solid Win-Win imo.
